I am most definitely a shoe girl. Part of that is that bags are so much more expensive; I never fall in love with any bags that cost less than $300, so that means I can only buy about one every year or so. Also, shoes are a more important part of an outfit for me; I only carry bags when I'm walking around outside, and if I'm in school or at work they just get stashed under my desk. Whereas shoes, obviously, are always on. And I just love the endless variety of them, too.
That said, I would LIKE to get more into bags, but the price tag is just such a problem...
i am neither here nor there on bags. i use them, but i don't pine after bags the way i do shoes. i think it's also because i have a hard time finding really comfortable shoes, whereas bags i could basically be happy with (almost) anything.
Shoe, definitely! I love handbags, too, but shoes are generally more affordable and I find it hard to justify spending so much money on a bag when I'll probably tire of it quickly.
shoe girl! I love shoes so much. I couldn't care less about bags. I have a hard time even justifying spending $20 on a purse at Target. That's how little I care. The bag I'm carrying right now is soft leather and with metal studs. My mom was impressed because when she saw me carrying it, apparently she had just read/heard that morning that it was going to the "the thing" for the season. The only reason I have it, is that it's a bag I found while cleaning out a late friend's house, so it was free and I only started using it because I like the size. I'm sure it's from like 5 years ago...and I'm sure I'll be carrying it still in 5 years because I can't get into them. I like looking at all the bags you girls buy in the shopping and fashion forum, but I can't appreciate them for my own sake.

If I had the money, I would be a bag girl! No doubt. I look at the bags in mags like Vogue and Bazaar, and I really think they are gorgeous. But, if I paid $5000 for a bag with my financial status of now, it may be grounds for divorce!! Ha!. But, just like Sephorablue said - all the ones I like are too expensive. I have probably 7-8 bags- and half of them my mom has given me after she tires of them. One is a really nice brown crocodile bag from Brahmin? I think thats how you spell it. I like it, but its so big! However, I probably will use it more this season with "the bigger, the better... " being in. I have one she also bought at Arden B, she doesnt usually shop there, saw it in the window, and bought it. But, then she saw another at Nordstrom- and gave me the Arden B one. It is a large black leather slouch bag- real nice also... for my standards anyway. There are a couple others she has given me that are more than the 50.00-100.00 I am willing to pay. She just bought a Kate Spade wicker purse last spring- I keep asking her if she is tired of it yet. Dont even ask her about her LV's though... she will never part with them.
I am definitely a shoe girl. I like bags, but I hate transferring all my stuff from one bag to another. Nothing is worse than realizing your sunglasses, bills to mail, lipglos....are sitting in the bag you decided not to carry. I have a black coach tote and the LV batignolles horizontal and I pretty much carry those during the week to the exclusion of all else.
At the office, no one notices a great bag unless I have lunch with them. But, people notice my shoes on a daily basis. Plus, I love the functionality of a great pair of shoes. Not only do they look good, but they feel good and make me feel good. I LOVE shoes!!!!
That is not to say that I'm not saving my pennies to buy the alma in red epi on my next trip to Paris

I could have written this exact post.
I always thought I was a bag girl, but I think since I joined the workforce, I'm much more of a shoe girl. I just find that the bags I like are all expensive.
And OMG do I want a red epi alma bag. Or blue...or the orange, cuz the orange is really awesome........
NC - I debate the red and the orange constantly. I feel that the orange would look really nice with pinks and greens and just be generally awesome in the summer - yes?
i'm a shoes girl, for sure. i completely agree with everyone re: all the reasons to love shoes. they definitely make the outfit. i have always adored shoes; i still remember my first "high heels" (which were really flats that had like a 1/2" heel, but to me at age 10, they were heels!).
but i also agree with you girls on the red epi alma...i looooove it!
I love them both, but I buy more shoes. Cheaper cute shoes are easier to find than cheaper cute bags.
All the bags I like are either classically iconic (LV Alma, Chanel 2.55 and every single quited, Celine boogie) or require a lot of saving up still (I like Botkier as of late and Alexis Hudson). If I gave into my bag habit, I'd be walking around in white beaters and cheap jeans because that's all I could afford.
That said, if I'd known HOW much the Alma in red epi was going to go up in price I would've bought it three years ago, price tag be damned!
Absolutely shoes. I love bags too, but I am really, really picky about shape / color / size / leather quality...and most bags I find that fit my requirements on all these are not within my budget. It's much easier for me to find shoes that make me happy without breaking the bank. And I agree with Kitty that shoes can make or break, more so than most bags.
