about what's happened here.

I was settling in with my grilled cheese last night to watch the MTV VMA's. Yes, I can't stand most music that is "popular" right now and I am very scared and stylishly deprived by all the "punk/goth" I saw and the ammount of striaght jeans and pants I saw on men and women alike - when one of the annoying MTV VJ's (or whatever they are called) was interviewing a new punk band. Once I took a minute to glance past the tight jeans, bad hair and ALL that eyeliner I realized, hey, I know that guy!!! THAT'S JARED LETO!!!! I am both blown away and sad and I don't know what to do! This was such a shock! I adored him as Jordan Catalano in my So Called Life, and as being a huge fan of that show recognize that one of his new band mates played his best friend on that show. I even thought he was cute when he grew up and became a dusty blonde with sparkling blue eyes and only did "serious movies". But now he is in a goth/punk band and dies his hair pink and black and wears more eyeliner then my mom and wears chunky shoes and tight straigt pants!!!???!!! Why?

not sure if it's the same band but i think remember reading even when my so called life was airing that he was in a band. i don't know.. i kinda like guys in eyeliner but to me he looks overly styled... like it's not a natural/my own idea/my own look kinda thing. i don't know. maybe i'm getting older but it's harder for me to tell which bands are truly indie anymore.

Luv2Shop - the guy that was in My So Called Life w/him that's also his bandmate, is actually his brother - Shannon Leto.


I don't know..I have a thing for guys in eyeliner too.  My favorite musician's from Kill Hannah do that too.  I still love Jared, I really like his band, but lately, everytime I see him, it's more and more over-the-top goth, which I don't really like.

shopchicago - And I thought I knew everything about useless pop culture info!! You are too good!! I am impressed! They would BOTH be so hot without the "i'm in a punk band" halloween costumes!!!

I secretly think he's still  so hot....


But I think that its because there is something deep and mysterious about that look and his music.


However, I saw a pic of him wearing crocs... and that kind of turned me off.
