How do you wash your bras?

I wash mine in a bag in the washing machine too - gentle cycle, cold water, Woolite, hang dry. It hasn't affected the quality IMO.

Are you noticing a specific problem or is it just kind of an allover thing?

I take them to my dry clean place which also does laundry. I'm not sure what they do, but they come out clean and undamaged.

I found that no matter how I washed them myself, they always got ruined or the shape got messed up.

I wash them on gentle and lay out to dry. I've never had a problem, but I wear mine multiple times between washes.

This is exactly what I've tried doing a few times. I just feel like after a few washings, the color isn't the same and the quality isn't as great. Plus the shape never feels the same. Maybe it's just me

I wash all of my underwear (as well as a lot of my other clothing) by hand. Sometimes I use Woolite, sometimes I use non-concentrated detergent. Depending on what I'm washing and how delicate it is I will either let it dry flat or hang it to dry. I've never had any problems with fading or loss of shape and my bras usually last for a number of years before the elastic starts to go.

I basically follow the directions they describe on this page.

I wash mine in the sink.. (by hand) with Woolite.

And then hang them up to dry.

I never like the way they turn out when I put them in the washing machine.

I used to just toss them in the washing machine and then hang to dry. Lately, thought, I've been investing more in my bras and therefore need and expect them to last a lot longer. Every week or so, I hand-wash them all in a bucket with soap I get from the lingerie store, then hang or lay out to dry (I would prefer to lay them out, but there's nowhere to do that, really!)

I know I'd feel like they got cleaner in the machine, but I've also heard that regular soap and anything except cold water can eat away at the elastic

When you girls say you hand wash - do you just let them soak in the Woolite or soap, or do you scrub them w/something?

I let them soak for 5 minutes, then I swish them around and "push" them up in down in the water to get the water to go through. I don't scrub them with anything because I'm afraid of ruining fabric, and I also don't really think scrubbing is necessary - my washing machine doesnt' scrub any of my clothes!

I hand wash all of my bras because putting them in the washing machine totally ruins them. I soak them and then handwash them with the lingerie soap from Victorias Secret. It makes my bras smell fabulous and is gentle for my sensitive skin. Depending on the state of the bra, I either lay it flat or hang it. I have had problems with bras losing their shape if they are pulled too tightly while they dry, but the stores I bought them at have taken them back because supposedly this wasn't my fault. The trick to washing nice lingerie is to be gentle! It's called delicate for a reason.

I handwash with diluted detergent or baby shampoo. Don't laugh...it's what the owner of a lingerie boutique told me to do...and I think it helps keep the bras very nice. I've never used the washing machine, because I've heard it can be hard on the elastic.

i just throw all my bras in the washing machine with my clothes. i am not particular about how i wash them. i never have a problem like this. i kind of think it is a little too much to be so fussy about how you wash bras, considering they are just another piece of clothing.

I wash them in the machine, in cold water, with woolite, on the delicate cycle, after EVERY wearing. If I feel they are particularly dirty, I soak them for an hour or so. I always air dry them, shaped, on a flat surface. And I only buy Victoria's Secret. The bra I am wearing today, I just realized, is four years old. And still looks like new (no snags, no grey straps, even the BOW is still silky and perfect). I love my lingerie and am VERY particular about it. (Everything matches, so I don't want to risk ruining any one piece because then the whole set it belongs to is no good to me...)
