I know they're just another piece of clothing, but considering they can get pretty expensive, I think it's worth it to take special care. Plus, bras are made with materials a lot of other items aren't - like lace and elastic. I don't want to ruin those parts. It's a pretty important item and even a small amount of padding (I only have the smallest amount, so my nipples don't make themselves known every day) can get all out of wack in the washer. I have a few bras I can't get back to a wearable state because the padding is so stubborn after having been rearranged
