I'm getting married in September and I need help finding pictures of updo's to take to my stylist. I have long hair with longish bangs, and I will be wearing an elbow-length veil on a comb. To give you an idea of the style of the wedding...it is a traditional church wedding, but most of the participants and guests are musicians and artists, so there will be a lot of modern style...my gown is strapless (mostly satin with lace on the train) with a taupe sash...my finace will be in a pin-stripe suit and has Morrissey-like hair and rocker-boy looks.
So, I'm looking for a hair style that is retro, but classic. My stylist suggested that I look at photos of 60's style icons for ideas, since I like the mod look with lots of curls.
Can anyone help me locate photos of 60's updo's? Or if you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!
Yep, I've looked at The Knot, Wedding Channel, and Brides...and nothing appealed to me. My fiance and I flipped through all of my bridal mags last night and couldn't find anything there, either.
Right now, upon my fiance's suggestion, I'm searching for photos of Audrey Hepburn ... Breakfast at Tiffany's ... While I love her hair in that film, I don't think that it would work with my veil. I don't know.
Anyway, I'm not familiar with these classic films and could really use some help with ideas for movies and actresses that I can look at for inspiriation.
Hmm, that's tough. I used to watch tons of old movies, but can't think of any right now! My only suggestion would be to look up tons of Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Manfield, maybe Sophie Loren, Brigitte Bardot, and just google to death. What about Stepford Wives? There might be some good hairstyles in that movie. I'll post more if I can think of any.
