Why haven't we talked about this yet? I am sooooo happy it was Keith. He was a slimy little weasel.
I was also pleasantly surprised with Angela's garment design and actually liked it. It was smart of her to pick Michael and Laura because they both rock. She was driving me nuts the first few weeks, but her stock has gone up a few points in my book. Vincent is my least favorite at this point.
OH!!! What was up with Robert's awful design? His sketches were amzing. WTF?!

I was thrilled when he was kicked off too. He's such a jerk. Sad thing is he was really a great designer and didn't need to cheat. I guess he's having problems too because the initial sketches he submitted were complete copies of some other designer. Can't remember the name though.

... and why is it that i don't particularly like ANYONE on the show this season? does anyone have a favorite designer? i have a couple least favorites but no one is standing out as a contender for me so far.

i feel like they are almost going out of there way to make it less obvious than it was last season. at first i thought that amount of group work was excessive, but i actually counted it out (in relation to last season b/c i have way too much free time) and it's about the same. i just feel like b/c they've done so much group work so early on, it's more difficult to get a real sense of each designer's aesthetic. though right now i am partial to michael.
the angela thing was kind of annoying. i feel like she still sucks as a designer, but b/c she picked people who were able to control her & lead her in the right direction she won. i don't think the win was any reflection on her talent (or lack thereof).
i also was disappointed in the way keith was ousted. not b/c i wanted him to stay. imo if you're going to get kicked off it should be for something the producers notice, not something another contestant brings to their attention. while i understand for keith it was the sum total of stuff he did, i thought it was kind of lame that the final straw was the pattern books & kayne ratted out. i would have preferred if they just said yeah you copied your portfolio and now you're out.

Couldn't have said it better myself Farrah! I loved Angela's design and said to my BF "oh I would actually wear that!".
I'm glad Keith is gone too. Yeah, it was sorta lame for Kayne to rat him out to the producers, but it is a competition and he broke rules, so he deserved to go. I was so sick of his arrogant attitude anyhow.
I don't know, I totally sympathize with Kayne ratting him out and probably would have done the same. It's not squealing for the sake of just getting somebody else in trouble ("Keith is smoking behind the cafeteria!"), it's squealing because you're in a competition where you're supposed to be on an even playing field, and somebody else is breaking the rules to give themselves an unfair advantage over you.
Also, on Tim's blog (because I am a total Tim groupie) he talks about that sketchbook in Keith's portfolio and specifically says that they were all aware of it from the beginning and were fine with it. I forget exactly what he said, but he did mention it and say it was legit and not a problem.
To Angela's credit, the final garments looked a lot like her initial design, so I don't think we can give all the props to Michael and Laura--but they DID prevent her from plastering the entire thing with those godawful rosettes. Given everything else she's done, I think this was the exception rather than the rule. I'm sure she'll be back to bubble skirts in no time.
I have a tough time picking a favorite, too, though I think it might be between Michael and Uli for me, with Laura right behind. Michael's dress for the dog challenge was my favorite piece of the entire competion--it was an absolute knockout.
I just want Vincent to go, though. I was yelling at the TV when they showed him making faces at Robert's design. Now granted, I didn't like what Robert was making, but the spectacle of Vincent there pulling faces and groaning at it made me want to slap him. He probably wanted to add a hat and some leggings.
