Umm. Don't quote me or anything.. but I am pretty sure that someone can be fired for operating a side business at their primary place of employment.

I know of a woman who used to hassle co-workers to buy Avon stuff from her at work and she was "let go" because a bunch of ppl complained.

Go to HR if you are fed up!

Maybe if you (ever so tactfully, of course) remind her that possession and distribution of fake purses is illegal, she might back off. Or maybe something like "Sorry, but I don't support buying knock off bags." I just think that if she hasn't gotten the hint when you've tried to be subtle then you probably need to be a bit more direct with her.

I've been pretty direct in saying no - of course, I haven't brought up the illegal thing or that she could be fired. Maybe I'll do that. I hate to go to HR over this because things are so formal here and I know it will just blow up into a whole issue. But, if this doesn't stop soon, I may have to...
