Now that most Moms and even 75 year olds are wearing boot cuts, are they doomed for fashion obscurity?
The fashion for boot cuts has been great for me--I actually have jeans that fit and look good on me. I've gone years without buying jeans when the fashions didn't flatter me.
I can wear a straight-leg, but in the past it has been hard to find a pair that fit my body.
What do you think? Are you still going to buy boot cut pants?
apparently, at the age of 21, I have a "mom" ass. I aplogize for eating and being able to leg press 200.
I will buy bootcuts and flares. At the rate we're going it looks like I will stop wearing jeans in favor of skirts if skinnies continue to dominate.
ETA: When I buy pants, I buy pairs that either have a trouser leg or wider. The only time I haven't was with my Alvin Valleys and that was because they fit so well in the hip/butt that I could live with their slightly straigter leg.
I will keep wearing boot cuts. I don't think that "mom jeans" are obscure because moms wear them. I think they are just ugly and moms sometimes don't have the time or energy to move ahead in the fashion world. I'm trying to get my mom out of them, now. With two of three kids on their own now, and my little brother in high school, she has the time now to get some that look good. Thankfully, her best friend is on my side. So here's hoping I can get her into some boot cuts like mine!

i don't think so. boot cuts are so flattering on most women. which is why they've been so popular for so long. i think skinny jeans are just a hot alternative right now but i doubt they'll replace boot cuts.

I agree. It's the same type of thing as the pointy toe/round toe debate. Fashion is cyclic and certain styles dominate from time to time, but a classic is a classic for a reason.
I'm with everyone else. Bootcuts and flares are about the only thing that looks good on my hips and butt so I will continue to buy them even if they are "out"
I doubt it. I feel like people wore "mom" jeans b/c they just didn't have a reasonable alternative. While I think some people can pull off the skinny jean thing, I think everyone looks good in bootcuts. It's like tall black boots or a nice bag. It just makes sense. I'm bootcut and proud. All the skinny jeans I like are just too much for me to justify the cost...so I'm sitting this trend out
Amen sista's!!! I am a boot cut girl like it or not, I enjoy eating as well Lilykind . The are and always have been the MOST flattering on me, and I agree that they are a classic. I just got my mom to start wearing boot cut instead of tapered "mom jeans" and BOY did she need that change!!
