I haven't gotten a proper haircut since December () and I want a change, so I scheduled an appointment tonight with a new guy. I have very little idea as to what I want, but I figure that if I just sit and hem-haw over ideas forever, I'll never get them done.
Anyone else got any ideas? My hair is just so hard to work with! It's thick, fairly coarse, but generally straight. I'd totally just wear it that way, but pin-straight hair is not flattering to my very round face. Also I have a surper-short neck so I'm thinking most shorter cuts will look silly on me. Every hairstylist (even if they cater to celeb clientele!) manages to make my head look like a poufball when it's cut short. I hate having it long because I use twice as much product and it is such a pain to maintain. I was going to try and grow it out for Locks of Love but I doubt they'd want my damaged ends anyway.
I'd love to know everyone's thoughts.
Front shot (please excuse the no makeup! arrggghhhhhh!) & back to see length
I like the Jessica Alba picture that Kitty posted.
I'm really lucky in that I've found a great hairdresser, but I feel like anyone of any quality could come up with something based on your concerns. Every time I get my haircut, I just sit down and tell him what didn't work the last time, what's been bugging me that needs to change, what seems blah, what my concerns are, what my lifestyle will be for the next couple months, and how much time I'm willing to put into it. He usually things for a minute and then just comes up with something on his own. Knowing what I'm thinking just helps him construct something himself.

I pretty much gave myself to the hairdresser and I went a lot shorter than originally anticipated. Now I totally have a cut I never thought I could pull off. Need to work on styling, but I like it. I've never had hair this styled or this short before.
aargh this pic is so bad but it's the only good frontal shot of my hair!
love it love it! It fits you so well its fun and funkyI love how it brought out your beautiful eyes and cheeks. Iam going to get my done next week and it is going to be totally opposite of what Iam use tooutside my comfort zone
I agree with Laken, that was very brave turning yourself over to the pro, I'm always way too scared to do it. Your amazing results though have made me think I should try it.
