hey girls! i need some suggestions for my little problem. Recently my sister/bestfriend moved to california and left me here in texas and my boyfriend lives two hours away and although we see each other every weekend and im moving there in december when i graduate, im just really bored since my sister moved away. its like i have become extremely needy in my relationship w/ my boyfriend bc i dont have her here hanging out w/ me all the time and keeping me busy and my mind off of the fact that my bf doesnt live in the same city as me. ok so anyway...im not taking any classes this summer and need something to feel my time. I am currrently reading two books, i work out everyday, but i still need something thats fun and can keep me busy/excite me enough to keep my mind off my boyfriend. I feel like i always complain about not having enough free time to do fun, creative projects yet now i have time and all i do is whine to my boyfriend bc i cant see him all the time. so do you girls have any suggestions as to some kind of fun, easy hobby i can get into this summer??
You have reading and exercising pretty much covered. I was going to suggest that.
How about organizing photos into albums or scrapbooks maybe? If I ever have free time again I will be doing this one.
Cooking?? Rachel Ray is pretty entertaining to watch on tv and her meals are pretty quick and easy if you haven't really cooked before. It might give you something to occupy your time and your bf will thank you later I think they play Rachel Ray on Food Network 4-5 times a day so you can't really miss her.
i second the cooking suggestion...it's soooooo useful and enjoyable!
I third this. I am only just now learning in my mid-twenties what a wonderful and rewarding life-long skill this is. If I had more time, this is what I would do. I highly recommend Alton Brown's two books, "I'm Just Here for the Food," (about cooking generally) and "I'm Just Here for More Food" (about baking... this one is really fun). His books are not just collections of receipes but they tell you the how and why food cooks the way it does and the steps to take to make it turn out delicious and tasty every time. Experiment, have fun, and don't be afraid to make mistakes... the better you get at it, the more enjoyable it is!
I think maybe joining a book club, or taking a jewelry or knitting class would work well for you. It sounds like you need some other companionship and people to talk to other than your bf and your sister. Reading and cooking are fine (my two personal faves), but I think you'll find that you'll be less reliant on your bf and sister if you engage yourself in some social activities.
