Lately I have had the worst late-afternoon sugar snack cravings. Somedays I've felt like eating the whole kitchen. I have veggies but all I really want is chocolate, cookies, cake....
How do you combat the 3 pm snack fix without becoming a total pig?
Do you eat nuts at all? Some Splenda sprinkled on peanuts is a good substitute for honey-roasted peanuts. I just have to be careful about the number of peanuts I eat!
I've been having this lately. Especially since my office is so cold I need a jacket and its freaking 95+ outside So I've been making milky way hot chocolate at work with our coffee machine. Anyways I noticed this was adding 3 points to my daily point count and today I switched to eating a nectarine in the afternoon and it filled my craving for something sweet and its healthy. Maybe you can try a juicy piece of fruit in the afternoon instead of a veggie. Maybe cherries, blackberries, peaches, nectarines?
Have you tried the WW chocolate cakes? I love them & that is usually a good choc option for me. I also have a really good recipe for chocolate muffins made with canned pumpkin - i know it sounds gross but they are so good. They end up being about 100 calories each - I just have to be careful with them because I will eat several a day when I make them.....
I know for me when I want sweets I want real sweets, not fruit although I realize that is a good option. So I just eat the chocolate & call it a day.

also, you could be dehydrated which could lead to cravings. so make sure you drink some water after lunch. i like to do smoothies, but i'm not sure if that's possible for you if you're at work.

If you want to be something in life, You ain't gonna get it unless, You give a little bit of sacrifice, Oohh, sometimes before you smile you got to cry.." -The Roots
Ingredients 18 1/4 oz unprepared chocolate devil’s food cake mix
15 oz canned pumpkin 2 egg white(s) 1/2 C. water 1/2 C. mini chocolate chips
Instructions Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 24 muffin pans with non-stick cooking spray. Combine all ingredients Place a scant 1/3 cup of cake batter into each muffin well. Bake for 20-22 minutes (look on back of box) or until toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean. Cool on wire rack.\
I was also going to suggest cereal- I buy some junky cereal - I realize the nutrition value of higher fiber cereals vs. sugary is debatable, but calorie / fat wise, they are all pretty similar. Sometimes a good ole bowl of Lucky Charms or Cocoa Pebbles cures my sweet tooth too. I figure that is better than baking a big batch of brownies!

Yes! I was reading an article that said sometimes our cravings for sugar are linked to not drinking enough water. I'm not sure if it was the water lobby or what posting that article but I do find that I want ice cream a lot more when I haven't been drinking enough water.
