ipod battery question
Permalink Closed

I got a new video ipod for christmas and I've had problems with the battery ever since I got it... mainly it lasts for about 3 hours when it's supposed to last for about 12. I took it in to an Apple store on saturday and they told me they were gonna run a battery check and that they'd get back to me in a day or two. Well, I still haven't heard back from them, so I was wondering if anyone knows what a battery test consists of/how long it takes to run one? Should I be worried?

I don't know how this panned out for you, but my husband had battery problems with the first version of the 40g one.  Hopefully they fixed it for you free of charge...

if, for some reason, apple is going to charge you, i also recommend doing it yourself.  i changed the battery on my outdated second generation ipod for $15.

umm. yeah, that's what we did with my husband's. the audio jack is no longer operational as a result.  the directions we were provided with were not detailed enough to explain that the part we were instructed to pull was attached to something else like a plug that was the actual item that needed to come out. so in my effort to pull on the item I was instructed to pull on, it became detached from the plug that it was supposed to stay attached to. anyway - that's the risk you take to save some money. we do have an ihome and it has permanent residence there or in our altec speakers, but using the headphone jack is no longer possible.  He uses my ipod now, and I am getting him a new one for christmas...

oh no!!  that really sucks D... i can see how that could've happened.  it took me a good 30 minutes to pry apart my ipod, by which point i was basically stabbing at it with the dullened plastic 'crowbar.'

the next time this happens, i'm just going to get a new one
