Has anyone seen this? I finally watched it last night and have to say, I was pretty disappointed. Overall my favorite things were Claire Danes' wardrobe and Jason Schwartzman, but besides that I was left a bit cold.
I saw it and really liked it. I know it's slow moving, but I really liked the story. I could really relate to Claire Danes' character (who hasn't loved someone that didn't love them back).

That aspect of it I definitely related to as well, and it was the more emotionally resonant part of me the movie for me, as was her loneliness. We've all been there after moving to a new town or starting a new stage in our lives on our own. I guess overall it felt a little too "look at how rich Steve Martin's character is" and all the violin music in the background, over and over, got to be too much for me.
I started reading the book and didn't make it quite far b/c I got bored with it. I just decided I'll see the movie instead. I'll let you know my 2 cents when I do see it though.

I was a bit worried that Claire Danes and Steve Martin together would creep me out, but it didn't. I really enjoyed the movie and thought it was very endearing.
I thought the movie was okay and thought it was shot in a cool way but I was grossed out by Steve Martin. Again, I am the oddball who is not attracted to older men so maybe that is why. I don't know, I just see him as a comedian, not as a "leading man" type. Just my two cents...
