In August my family and I will be taking a trip to Las vegas for a week. I was asking my dad if he had looked up which hotel we would stay at and he said he doesnt know which one yet. He also said that the prices seem to be high the week we are planning on going. There will be 5 of us in total. Are there any tips on when we should look up hotels and make reservations? Any websites or recommendations?
Ranchera.. the usual places to search- Expedia, Travelocity.
A lot of friends have had a lot of luck getting vacation packages to Vegas from Southwest so get yr dad to search there. And since you are going for a whole week.. leaving on a Tues or Wed will be cheaper than leaving on a Friday so remember to check for that.
I'd try all the usual, like Kalhuamilk said, but also try Travelzoo. Here's the link to their Vegas page. Check the home page for more travel deals. They'll post deals you can find on Expedia, Travelocity, Cheap Tickets, etc. as well.
Last week I saw a suite at the Venetian for $129! That's a killer deal! Last week I booked a night at the Fairmont out here in Scottsdale for $99. It's a 5-star hotel! I searched for weeks on the regular sites and the best I came up with was $199 w/a dining voucher, then I stumbled across this site and saw that killer deal that I hadn't seen anywhere else. Good thing about them, too, is you don't book with them, you do it directly with the hotel, so you don't have the crazy cancellation policies that some travel websites have.
