Empress Palace in Chinatown for dim sum...yum..
C & O's Trattoria in Marina Del Rey for Italian.
Koi or Katana in Hollywood for sushi (very "hollywood" atmosphere)
When I was in LA,along with what all the other girls said, I really enjoyed the shops in Santa monica, I think they were near the beverly center maybe?? It was like an outdoor mall, I can't remember the name of it though.. Maybe someone else will remember... Its where Lush is at.
I also ate at this really good Restaurant, it is called the Stinking Rose, Yes it sounds like a weird name, but it is really good, but you have to like garlic, because everything they serve contains garlic, including dessert.. Garlic Ice cream... It sounds gross but I tried it and thought it was really good. It has a really nice atmosphere and ambience inside as well.

oh laguna is adorable! i love it there. while you're in the OC, be sure to go to the Fashion Island outdoor mall in Newport, sooo pretty. And the OC's version of LA's Bev Center is South Coast Plaza--huge, w/ tons of shops.
oh and nicoley, I think you're referring to 3rd St. Promenade in Santa Monica--very cute and right by the beach.
YES!! thank you esquiress... That was bothering me, ha ha.

while shopping....remember that parking is tough in certain areas, but be extra careful to properly parallel park within the lines. You will be ticketed in no time flat it you don't, and their parking tickets aren't cheap.

montmarte, if I was you I'd just stay in Orange County and head up and down the PCH through all the beach cities. There's a Lucky guide from a few months back that has shopping info on those beach towns. I can fax it to you or email you all the info.

There's an outdoor mall in Santa Monica called Third Street Promenade. I think the Beverly Center is further inland.
