I know Vegas has been posted about before, but my friend just won a free trip to Vegas for her and a friend.  She picked me!  Woo hoo!  So now I need to know, first where to stay.  We are thinking the Bellagio.  Also any shows we must see, clubs we must go to, etc?  Also fav restaurant bc I want to take her out to dinner as a thank you.  Any recs are appreciated!

You're going to have so much fun! I think I gained 5 pounds when I went to Vegas...there was so much food! The best place I ate at was the Bellagio Hotel Buffet. It was about $30 but they had so much delicious food (my favs were the seafood, french desserts and sushi)!  If you get the munchies there's also a really cute crepe place inside the Paris Hotel right across the street from the Bellagio. I can't remember the name of it but yumm!  Didn't get to see any shows but I heard Cirque du Soleil's "O" show was incredible (but so is the price at a $100 something). Have a great time!!

I would stay at the Venetian. All of the rooms there are suites. You can't always get a suite at the Bellagio.

You are going to have so much fun shopping!

i would stay at the venetian as well.

mandalay bay has an AMAZING pool with a lazy river, but it's kinda farther down the strip.  there's also the hard rock hotel that's more "local" aka. more west coast visitors, but that's also a bit off the strip.

i would also recommend eating lunch one day at the cafe across from the bellagio so you can watch the fountains while you eat in the sun.  there's a chinese cafe and a cafe that has american fare.  my favorite meal was a seafood meal at the aquanox in the venetian.  it was soooo yummy.  it's great if you love seafood.

You'll have so much fun!  Are you going during the week, or on the weekend?

How fun!

I love "The Hotel" at the Mandarin. It is also an all-suite hotel, and is very young & fun feeling!
My fave restaurant there is called Stack. So good!

Cool! I love vegas! Bellagio and Venetian are both great, but I like Ceasar's Palace for its easy access to the forum shops. For food, I heard Mesa Grill was really good, it is owned by Bobby Flay, and his stuff always looks amazing! As for clubs, Tao was really fun and had a pretty hip crowd.

Well it is for 4 nights so it will include part of both.  We haven't officially decided when to go, but I will keep you updated.

Thanks for the ideas.  My only requirement I have made so far is that I must have In-n-Out  When I was in Cal that was my favorite and I miss it so much!

I also rec the Venetian, but Caesars is good too so long as you are in the newer section.

I don't rec Mandalay (the pool is the best), but it is so far on the end of the strip, its a pain to get to anything else.

In terms of nightclubs, I love Rain in the Palms.  It is just a huge, wild dance party.  That being said, if you can spring for a VIP table, I think it is worth it.

Food, I have eaten at Bobby Flay's and I didn't think it was that grand.  I love the restaurant at the front of the Paris.  It has a patio... I can't remember the name of it (Mon something or the other... I think), but the food is SO YUMMY!  It is right at the front and the patio is right next to the sidewalk.

For a quick bit to eat, Wichcraft in the MGM grand is also yummy.  The sandwiches are so unique.  Craftsteak in MGM was also good.  It is a Tom Callichio (I know this is sp wrong...) restaurant.  He was the judge on Top Chef.

Have fun!
