Absolutely! I think trend-following gets a bad rap. As long as you're not wearing age-inappropriate trends or wearing too many trendy items at a time, you can look as classy as you want to.

there are tons of ways to incorporate trends into a sophisticated look, as long as there aren't too many trends referenced in one look...classy can be more than just classic..

Definitly. I think my look stays rather classic but I usually wear something trendy and fun with it like shoes, bag, jewelry, or a cool shirt peeking out of a cardi or jacket.
Are you talking "classy" or "classic" because I think there's a BIG difference between the two. But, I think you can still be trendy and be classic and classy as well.
I think if you want to dabble in trends, but still want to remain classic looking, you would focus on keeping the outfit relatively simple and maybe make things kinda trendy with accessories.
If you want to look classy and not trashy, which I would hope you would always want (), then you want to focus on making sure things fit well and that you're not piling on trend after trend. And Elle's right too--you want to be age appropriate (ahem! Teri Hatcher, I'm talking to you!!! )
