I'm so sorry!!  How can any responsible adult change their mind like that?  I can't believe she didn't give you more notice since you were planning to come help her move today.  Have you talked to her?  Did she say why she changed her mind?

Oh sweetie - I'm sorry!!!! I know exactly how this one feels - just when you think they heard you, "bam" they "forget." It'll be ok. Promise.

OMG!  I am so sorry!  That is so inconsiderate and I can't believe that she would do that to you all.  I hope that she has better judgment in 2 months.  {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}

I'm kinda late on this whole thread, but I've just had the chance to get to it.  Anyway, that sucks that your mom is being like this.  I hope she realizes what she's doing before you and your brother grow up and move out of the area or whatnot.  It's a shame she just doesn't seem to realize she's missing out on getting to know you guys.

I hope she turns around soon.  This must be exhausting for you guys.  Have you guys ever thought about getting you, your brother, and your dad together and sitting her down and explaining to her how you all feel?  (I'm assuming that you all feel pretty similarly about the situation.)  Maybe some sort of "intervention" of sorts is in order.

I've been keeping up with this & haven't commented because to be honest I don't know what to say. And still don't other than I'm so sorry, nicoley.

Nicoley,
I'm so sorry this is happening to you. It's not your fault that she's acting so egoistically and in such an irresponsible way that she would not even admit that she doesn't put her family first. It sucks, but unfortunately you cannot change her, or expect logical reactions from her. It's natural to be bitter and upset, after all this is your mother . You cannot help but feel that she owes you affection and closeness - much more than she is giving you - or at least some honesty in acknowledging that family is not her top priority. Abandonment sucks. It makes you wonder whether doing anything differently would change your mother's attitude. But unfortunately, you cannot change her if she does not want to change herself. If you want, PM me - I have gone through some of these things with my own parents. I keep repeating to myself, "I will be a much better mother to my children". You cannot change the past, but you can be hopeful for the future when all the choices are in your hands.
many hugs!

I'm sorry Nicoley.  Renee had some good words of advice and I think what she is saying is true.  It is a sucky situation but sadly I don't think your mother will ever change or come home.  It seems that this is normal for her based on your posts.  I'm glad you provide a good support system for your brother (based on previous posts) because I know he is probably handling this worse than you since he is younger and boys tend not to show their feelings.

Well, Well, Well.... Have I got news.... She came home!  It was super last minute, but me and my dad helped her move everything back into our house yesterday and today.  So it's official.  I can't begin to say how nice it is for her to back, and suprised at how much she enjoys being back as well.  I hope it all works out for the best.  I know for sure that I feel so relieved, like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

Yes I am just as suprised as all of you probably are.  I'd love to know how she changed her way of thinking.  But i'm hoping it was because she came to her senses and realized the huge mistake she making.

I can't thank all of you enough for all your support, you have no idea how much it helped me get through the ups and downs of the situation.  Thanks again!!  (Hopefully this is the last update )

I've been reading this thread all along, and just wanted to say how glad I am for you that she came to her senses and came home!  That's great news.  I know how stressful all of this must have been for you.
