I'm getting pissed off by the amount of heels that I've ruined going up and down stairs. I live on the second floor of my building and the third floor at work, and I park in a 5 story garage. I'm always waking up and down stairs...and I am constantly ruining the heels on my shoes. I scuff them either going up or down and I'm not sure if this can be fixed or not...but it leaves the heel looking hideous because there's this chunk of leather all scrunched up and scuffed in one area.
Am I the only one that does this? I feel like I ruin shoes and purses at an alarming rate.
ME! I hate it. I constantly scuff the heels going up and down the subway steps even though I try to be careful. It's just so hard when my normal mode is to run up and down as fast as possible. A good cobbler can usually smooth out the leather and glue it back down but I've done this to shoes with wooden and plastic heels (side note: I HATE shoes with plastic heels and don't understand why some pricier brands like Fornarina use them when they make a perfectly lovely shoe look cheap and are so much easier to ruin). It sucks.
Me too! I ruin shoes at a MUCH faster rate than most Angelenos because I'm one of the only ones who does a ton of walking. I really don't know what to do about it, except that I regularly take my shoes into the cobbler to get them new soles and everything. The only shoes I haven't had any of these problems with are my Eugenia Kims...the plastic on there is really sturdy and they're barely scuffed after tons of wear.
You know what's worse? I almost ruined my Sigerson kitten heels by getting them stuck in the ESCALATOR at my local Nordstrom. I was so lucky to yank them out before the escalator ate them!
