I m so sick of looking at the time and it is like 8pm and I m like ohh mall s going to close in like a hour or 2. I thought up of this question...
What time do you think stores should close? Should they be more accessible at variety hours to fit in our busy schedules like those who works 3rd shift....
i think they should close when they do- they want to go home too, but around christmas, my hometown has a midnight madness where boutiques and stores stay open til midnight, and some all night. I think stores should have one of these every season, or at least twice a year, because it would be really fun
I agree that they should close when they do, because I worked at a mall store once and the later the evening, the more chance that scary people would come in. Not that it was the norm, and certainly scary people came in at all hours, but at night it was just creepier.
I was manager, so I was often alone or with only one employee. Once, while working with just one other person, I caught some creep masturbating! Its a long, gross story, but basically he ran out fast. He came back a couple days later, visibly aroused. He clearly got off on the fact that he freaked me out, or whatever. Mall security proved themselves to be almost worthless on these occasions.
That being said, sometimes I wish I could go shopping late at night. But I guess that's where on-line shopping comes in handy.
I definitely think that they don't need to be open any later than they are. I know in different parts of the country, malls close at different times. I believe that the East Coast (in general) is open about an hour later than the West Coast-- East Coast closes at 9 or 9:30, West Coast at 8 or 8:30.
I used to work in retail and I hated working in the evenings. It really sucked. And the worst was holiday hours when we were open until midnight. It was ridiculous. No one was in the store that late. Unless you work in a huge, major mall (like King of Prussia), there is no need for holiday hours like that. At. All. Sorry, this is a huuuuge soapbox for me because I missed the two Christmases that I was working in retail managment b/c that was the only day I had off and I was too exhausted to do anything.
Stores definitely don't need to be open later. If anything, I think in the summer, they should close earlier (by about an hour).
I agree they should close when they do. I worked in a store as an assistant manager for 6 years and usually had to stay about an hour later than closing just to clean up. Many of the workers are either students who have homework to go home and do or parents who have children to go home to. I think the public just has to adjust to the posted times and buy what they need during those hours.
Two armed men forced female employees into a Lodi pizzeria's walk-in freezer and then made off with cash Wednesday night, police said.
Nobody was injured, and there had been no arrests as of Thursday afternoon.
The employees at Pizza Works, 100 W. Turner Road, were closing the business and one took trash out the back door around 10:45 p.m., according to Lodi Police.
The men, both brandishing pistols, had apparently been waiting outside and entered the restaurant when the employee opened the back door, police said.
With guns drawn, the men took one of the employees' cell phones and then forced them into a walk-in freezer. The men, one wearing a bandana and one wearing a ski mask, shut the freezer door and then took the cash register drawer before leaving the business.
Police did not say how much money was stolen and further information was not available Thursday. Employees referred calls to the owner, who did not return a message.
Actually, there's more to the story. One of the girl's mother works at the same company as I do. The mom told someone that the men took the girls' clothes off too. They didn't go into detail, of course, but you can imagine.
