Are you currently in...

a career- where you enjoy what you're doing, have room for advancement, using your degrees or aquired knowledge, plan to stay in that feild for awhile.

a job- you go to work to bring home a paycheck and kill some time.

I have a "job" now. Had a career & to be honest, I couldn't take the pressure. I love being able to forget about work at 5:01 instead of spending sleepless nights worried about my job.

Definitely (and finally) a career. And a creative one at that, which is the only kind of career that I would want.

I put career, because all the career criteria apply...But I could put job too, because most day I feel like I'm just killing time, because it can be really BORING.

After years and years of school, I'm finally entering into a career. I have high hopes that I'll be able to make a difference and feel personally fulfilled.

Career...love my "job"!  We are reorganizing and I have just received word that I got the placement in the new org that I asked for...YAY!  I am now in a complete Product Strategy vertical, which basically means I get to come up with all the "blue sky ideas" for our software and don't have to write any of the boring business requirements.

I'm in a job that I would like to make a career. But I'm an assistant here and there's no room for advancement.

I say mine is just a job.  I'd love to be able to use my degree skills but it hasn't happened for me yet.  Most days I feel brain dead and totally unchallenged.

Career here...I do exactly what I went to school for.  There isn't much room for advancement in my field unless I go back to school (out of the question at least for now), but I am happy doing what I am doing.

Um...neither?

I work for myself. I don't use my schooling experience (by the time I finished college - long story - I was making twice the starting salary in my degree field and the pay cut would've been painful. Plus I'd gained a lot of "world experience" and didn't think the degree field was right for me anymore).

I have room for advancement - it all depends on how I want to run my business. I certainly am not just collecting a paycheck (what paycheck?) and stopping work at 5 p.m. I work longer hours than I ever have before. But I love what I do.
