It was pretty much exactly like the book. I thought it was okay, but I think if you liked the book you'd like the movie. Its just that it was so hyped up I think critics expected more.

The book is great, the movie is good. I liked it, it wasn't all it was hyped up to be but still good! However, I don't think you should go into any movie listening to what others have to say...go with what you like. I like Tom Hanks, that is why I went.

I kinda want to go even though the reviews have sucked. My boyfriend is refusing to see it, so unless I find a friend I think I'll just wait till I can Netflix it.

I don't know why, but in all the interviews Tom Hanks is serioulsy eewwing me out. He's looking mighty child-molester with that hair.

I went and saw and haven't read the book.  I thought it was an okay movie.  It had some intense moments, especially since I didn't know what was going to happen next (never having read the book).

My bf went with me and he has read the book multiple times and he thought it was a good movie, but was disappointed at some of the changes.  He said they removed some of his favorite parts.

I'm going to see it this afternoon. I have a feeling I might be disappointed.

DH and I are going this afternoon too.  I can't wait!  I loved the book and I'm so excited for the movie.  I've read some reviews that were so-so, but I don't really care.  I have a feeling I'm going to like it.

I saw it on Friday. I thought it was a lot like the book... not outstanding but it had enough suspense to keep me interested. It was really long but I didn't get bored, which is rare. At first I didn't think Tom Hanks was right for the part, but after seeing it he was fine. Parts were very similar to 'A Beautiful Mind'... which would make sense since Ron Howard directed both. Where the movie differed from the book was that there wasn't really any romantic connection between Langdon and Sophie, which I think was a smart choice because there was enough already going on.

I thought it was just me lol. I like Tom Hanks and most of his movies but I hope he doesn't keep his hair like that...it does make him look kind of creepy.

DH and I both want to see it

I actually never finished the book because IMO the writing was pretty crappy. But I can't wait to see the movie to find out what all the fuss is about. I'm not really a big fan of Tom Hanks but I love Ian McKellen and Audrey Tautou so I definitely want to see how they do in this movie.

Just got back from seeing it and I really liked it.  DH liked it alright, but he didn't feel like the characters were well-developed, but I think the movie and the book are more about the story and the plot, and not really about the characters, so I think that's forgivable.

I thought it was well-done.  It was pretty much what I expected it to be.  I'm REALLY glad that there was no romantic stuff between Sophie and Robert--I hated that part of the book and felt it was just thrown in the book when it was totally unneccesary.

I thought Paul Bettany was GREAT in his role as Silas.  Thoroughly creepy.

It wasn't a stellar movie, but it was perfectly enjoyable.  Bonus for the movie theater too--$5 matinees for adults, plus they serve beer and wine.  Wooohoooo!

Okay, I saw it. I liked it. I don't think it deserved all of the scathing reviews that it got. I actually really liked Tom Hanks in the part of Robert Langon (and I'm not usually a Tom Hanks fan). There were a few deviations and embellishments from the book, but overall, it was very true to the book.

I agree with whoever said it was really long, but I felt that it moved along pretty well. There weren't really any moments that I felt were dragging out. Overall, though, I was entertained.

I saw it and liked it but couldn't get over the casting. Tom Hanks? seriously? I kept waiting for meg Ryan to appear somewhere in the background.

I think they strayed a little from the book at the end too, which bothered me a little. Nothing major, but enough to irk me you know?

I saw it. It had some excellent actors (Audrey T., Ian M., Paul B., etc.). I thought the story was not as indepth as the book but it's a movie, right? I definitely don't think it deserved all the bad reviews it got. It was a good movie not a great movie, but it was certainly better than some of the crap that's been out there recently. I didn't like the whole faith aspect of the movie, it felt a little sell-out to me but ah well. All in all, if you liked the book, it's definitely worth seeing.

I saw it, I liked it. But there were a lot of things left out and some parts were gross and made me scringe.

Pros: Good movie; gives you the view the author was thinking

Cons: Left out some really good parts; Sorta ruins it for you.

So, based on the Pros and Cons, you make your own desicision.

I didn't think it was horrible, but I didn't think it was good, either. I never read the book so I had no idea what was going to happen, but I still found it pretty predictable and not really very interesting. I am usually the last person to guess plot twists but I saw the two big reveals coming from pretty far off. My verdict: in a fake Simon Cowell accent: "for me, it was just okay."

Pretty much echoing the same thoughts.. it was decent.. I read the book and it was nice seeing how some scenes played out.. I really loved the ending in the book but I didn't think they did that very well in the movie.. but on the whole it's def worth seeing.

I didn't really find anything in the movie particularly controversial.
