Spinoff:International Shipping-here's a good one
Permalink Closed

I just posted about how I don't like to do international shipping.  I have it stated in my listing in more than one place that I don't do international shipping.  Well guess what, someone just won the auction on my item and they are from Germany.  Now what do I do?

If you don't want to ship internationally you should contact the person and explain that as stated in your auction you do not ship outside the US and that the two of you will have to agree not to complete the transaction, won't leave each other bad feedback, etc. There is a way to officially do this on ebay (I had to do it once when some guy who bought something from me claimed to have problems with his Paypal account) but I can't remember how.

Then when you relist the item make sure your preferences (which you can find on the My Ebay page) are set to block foreign bidders. This will prevent bids from going through if the buyer is located in a country to which you don't ship.

I didn't know you can block foreign bidders.  Thanks, I'll do that!
