When I saw it was another A-L flashback, I wondered if she was going to die, like Shannon did at the end of her second one. Also, I read at tvguide.com today that they had decided against a romance between her and Jack -- that certainly ends it!
I was wondering too if Michael had been brainwashed when he came back. It just didn't feel like he could be telling the truth about the others being so primitive, when we saw their theatrical kit and everything. What a great episode!
Whoa, that episode was CRAZY! I was shocked when AL and Jack's dad knew each other! And now Jack will never know. Weird. But I'm kinda glad AL is gone. Her character could just be so awful!
I don't think Michael was necessarily brainwashed--I think he's got the sickness that killed Rousseau's team. Something clearly is not right with him.
What I really want to know is where did Henry go???
i couldn't believe ana lucia and jack's father knew each other either, that's crazy. jack's father was such a creep!
i didn't even make the drunk driving/dying connection, but it makes sense. i was wondering why they threw libby in.
i think michael has the sickness, too. but he's obviously not totally out of it, he shot himself so he could blame henry for killing the other two - which makes me think it's not the others who sent him back. but with this show, who knows.
do you think henry was telling the truth, that he was coming for locke when rousseau caught him? i wonder what locke's going to do about it.
and maddie - i'm with ya. the ana lucia/sawyer hookup was a little disappointing - i wanted more. more of him, at least.
poor hurley, his love is gone. i wonder if he'll ever figure out that she was a patient with him.

Me three! Maybe the 'extended version' will be on the DVD ....
I don't quite understand why Michael benefited from Ana Lucia being dead though. Someone care to explain? Seems like he already had everyone on board to go take down the Others anyway ..... .
This episode was awesome!

My interpretation: Michael was brainwashed by the Others, who sent him stumbling through the jungle into Kate and Jack's lap so that he could infiltrate their camp and free Henry. He fed them lies about the Others being primitive and barely armed so that they'll get riled up and rush off to fight them, thereby falling into a trap. And Michael shot A-L as retribution for her killing Goodwin, the Other who infiltrated the Tailies camp. Libby he had to shoot because she walked in and caught him. Then, he opened the door to Henry's cell and shot himself in the arm so that Henry can escape and get back to the Others, while Michael is going to pretend that Henry shot *him* and killed A-L and Libby (although we don't know for sure that Libby really is dead yet). Meanwhile, Henry goes back to the Others and they get ready for the big rumble when Jack and everyone shows up.
I don't buy that Michael spent all that time in the jungle watching the Others without trying to save Walt, especially since he was armed and he said only two Others had guns. That's why I think he's brainwashed, and not sick. Just my interpretation -- can't wait for next week!
What a crazy episode! I wish it would show some back story on Henry!
I think that Michael had been captured by the Others, they let him go when Jack was calling in the jungle and sent him on a mission to kill Anna Lucia and free Henry, on the condition if he does it, he gets Walt back.
ETA: Oh and what if jack and Claire are brother and sister? Jack's dad was in Australia trying to see his daughter so it's possible it could be Claire. Although that lady he was talking to didn't look old enough to be Claire's mom.

He thinks that Michael did find the others, he pointed out that Michael left with some big gun and that he now doesn't have it, why would he leave that behind in the jungle? So, he thinks the others have threatened to kill Walt unless he frees Henry, which is why he said sorry before he shot AL and then Libby was just at the wrong place at the wrong time.

I wonder this too! She didn't look old enough to be Claire's mom, but she had very similar hair.

oh--i thought the woman was Sarah, Jack's wife, at one point and he was asking to see his grandaughter.

i got the impression that the woman jack's dad was confronting at the door was his daughter's significant other. not sure why, that's just the feeling i got. or maybe he had an affair when he was in australia at some other time, or with an australian woman in america, and they had a love child that he's never seen? and that woman was the mother at the door?

I thought it was a really great episode!! Every moment is always so good.
My boyfriend pointed out one little problem with the show last night. When Jack told Sawyer to give him the gun that he had, Sawyer went to go reach for it and it wasn't there, wouldn't he have noticed it was gone when he got dressed after he and "Lucy" (as Sawyer calls her) got it on?
Didn't like the AL/Jack's dad storyline at all. It seemed forced and unnecessary. Why does he need a bodyguard to see his child's baby mama? This character connection didn't really seem natural to me.
Also didn't like AL/Sawyer scene. I read that a while ago and thought it was a joke. Weirdest pairing ever .
Looooved the ending. I mean, a ton of people knew that AL would die but Michael killing her was a great twist and Libby dying was interesting as well. I think Michael is either a) brainwashed or "sick" or b) working with the others.
The next three eps should be really good.

Seems like needsfashionadvice is correct - all reports are that the lady in the doorway is Claire's mom- we were introduced to her when Claire was telling her about the baby? I myself don't remember this, but that's what the reports are saying. I am so confused about Michael though....the "kill them, free henry & we'll give you walt" thing makes sense.

Ok, here is my husband's theory: He thinks that Michael did find the others, he pointed out that Michael left with some big gun and that he now doesn't have it, why would he leave that behind in the jungle? So, he thinks the others have threatened to kill Walt unless he frees Henry, which is why he said sorry before he shot AL and then Libby was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. Is next week the season finale?
This is my theory as well.
And no, we have three more weeks until the finale (all new episodes).
When Jack's dad confronted that Austrailian woman about his daughter, I was wondering if maybe the daughter could have been Claire. She's the only actual Austrailian character featured, right? Hmm.
What a confusing episode. The end really threw me off. I was expecting Libby to be around for a while so we could find out more about her stay in the mental hospital with Hurley. Ana Lucia's character had been annoying me from day one, so I am glad she's gone.
I wonder what Locke is thinking. He told Jack he agrees that The Others including Henry are liars and any warnings they made can't be trusted, but is he just playing along so he can see what Henry meant when he said that originally he had been on a mission to the beach to find John Locke? I loved the part when they were confronting Sawyer and then Locke said, "Jack, I need to tell you something..." about Ana Lucia and the gun.
Now....will they please return Desmond?

I just got caught up with the SOS episode and this episode and WOW! I was on the edge of my seat and totally didn't see Micheal's killing spree coming. These two episodes got me back into my Lost groove. I love it.
Now I have to get caught up from last night. I tried to be home by nine but when I got here, there was company.
