My skin has been flipping out lately because of hormones, really high stress, and a new glycolic acid facewash that sent it into overdrive. I'm looking for a really nice, gentle facewash that will ease it back into health. Any good ones I should check out when I go to Target tomorrow? Thanks in advance! :)

I'd definitely recommend Cetaphil. A couple years ago my skin went through a major freakout (redness, itchiness, flakiness, you name it, I had it) and my dermatologist started me on Cetaphil. I haven't had problems since. It's super gentle, but it definitely cleans.

ditto on the Cetaphil. It is very mild but works great. My derm also highly recommends this product.

I also have oily, acne-prone skin and I cetaphil. I use the regular Cetaphil (not the kind for oily skin) in the evenings, but the key for me is using it WITHOUT WATER. Seems totally counter-intuitive, but you just put it on, rub it around a bit, and wipe it off with a soft washcloth. I use Proactive cleanser in the morning.
My skin looks much better now then it did when I was using Proactive cleanser both morning and night. I'd try using your glycolic cleanser once a day and the Cetaphil once a day for awhile and see if it helps or hurts.

I have oily, acne-prone skin and I HATE Cetaphil...I have tried it before but I don't think it keeps my face clean at all. I'm all about Purpose facial wash. I use the liquid. It's really mild too but it really cleans very well.
I agree 100% I just don't get the hype with Cetaphil; I've tried it many times and always like something else better. I love Purpose. I guess it's just a compatability thing.
Cetaphil is great! But I too like a deeper cleanse, so I use a thin washcloth to get really clean. I also occasionally use St. Ive's Apricot Scrub, just a tad bit of it with the Cetaphil suds up on a cloth is all I need.

I love Clearasil Sensitive Skin face wash. It doesn't dry out your skin, and it gets all the dirt and oil out gently. Gosh, I sound like a commercial, but it really is great!
I actually like the Cetaphil for normal/oily skin (my face is definitely oily). I also use Basis cleaner clear face wash (similar to the cetaphil). I feel like the Basis cleans a bit better tho.
ETA: A friend who (supposedly) works for one of the best dermatologists in the world says that Dove bar soap (the regular kind) is the best facial cleanser around. I don't really know how much weight I would give to this. I've tried it and it works comparably well with Cetaphil and Basis.
Purpose and Basis were recommend to my mom by her dermatologist. I am a Purpose fan - liquid - been using it for years. Also, I have had good luck (in my teen years) with Phisoderm and Cetaphil. Between these four - I think all will do the trick - it'll just be personal preference. Good luck!
