My iPod photo (don't know the generation but it has a wheel) won't start. My computer doesn't recognize it nor will it charge. So, I went through the apple website and tried all suggestions for getting it to turn on and next is resetting it. The apple website says my songs are saved however, I looked at a few other websites that say you lose everything on your ipod so...I'm afraid of resetting. Has anyone ever done this to their iPod? If so, was your music ereased?
I have reset my ipod mini before with no problems. I think you are supposed to reset it every once in awhile. But mine is the mini from about 2 years ago. Aren't all your songs on iTunes anyway? So if somehow you did lose them from your machine, you could just reload them, right?

I have some songs on my computer but the majority were from my soon to be ex boyfriend's music collection and I just got them directly from his computer so I don't have them on mine. That's one of the reasons I'm so hesitant to try it. Don't want to lose all my good music!
But its good to hear you did were able to reset your iPod without any problem. Maybe I'll just try it. I've tried everything else.

I'm glad to hear this, my ipod has been sitting on my desk doing nothing for a few weeks because I'm so afraid to reset it, for the same reason - some of this stuff is from old friends and exes, and I won't be able to get it back!
