What a dissapointment! We went there a few weeks ago and three of the four items rang up higher than their marked price (I didn't check the receipt 'til we got home and we're about an hour drive so...).
Then we bought an island and when we came home to assemble it one of the wooden pieces that makes up the drawer assembly was not cut at a perfect right angle, so it left a triangular gap in the corner where the ends should have met up.
Then the groove in the top of one of the screws was eroded so the screw driver didn't fit snug, making it difficult to turn the screw all the way flush with the wood. This screw went into the housing on top that holds/encases the drawer. So the screw remained sticking out maybe an 1/8 of an inch, so you would have to either slam the drawer or leave the drawer open part way.
So I e-mailed Ikea immediately to let them know about the faulty priced items and the shoddy craftsmanship and they haven't even responded yet(this was three weeks ago from Sun.).
I feel your pain! I love Ikea's decorative stuff and love shopping there but I refuse to buy anything more from that place that has to be put together. Their instructions drive me up a wall and I agree that the quality leaves much to be desired.
