that is so exciting!! having a sibling that close is the best thing ever - built in best friend! my brother and i are about the same age apart and now (at 24 and 23) he is my roommate and we are still so close...
so, do you have to start researching hospitals/ doctors in egypt now?

Hey Hermione--To answer your question, I will get my prenatal care after I move from American-trained or British-trained doctors in Cairo. The embassy arranges that for you. I can choose to deliver in Cairo at one of the hospitals there or I can get medevac'ed to either London, which is 5 hrs away or to the States to be with family and have it there. We're trying to decide which would be the best option. If I could have it there, I think that would be more desirable but the embassy does not recommend it b/c it claims they are not equipped to handle an unforeseen emergency. OTOH, I've heard of about 13 people (americans) who have given birth there anyway in the last 3 yrs and all did fine except one woman, whose 6 day old baby died but nobody knows if it was a freak thing or due to the inadequacies of the medical care. So that, surprisingly, is the short answer!! I will definitely most more about this dilemma later to get opinions!

If you delivered in London or Cairo does that mean the baby would have dual citizenship? Cause that's would be so cool!
I swore I already replied to this one but congrats nonetheless! I think it's so awesome when siblings are close together. They tend to be much closer as they grow up, too. Yea!!
