On a typical day, do you wear your hair down or up/back?
And let's not count when/if you get home and throw your hair back in a ponytail or bun. Just while you're out in public (work, school, running errands, shopping).
I wear my hair down 99% of the time, so I am wondering what others do.

I always wear mine in a ponytail. I only "do" my hair when I am putting effort in the way I look. People are so used to seeing me with my hair up they always comment when i have it down.
I usually wear my hair up every other day. It looks like absolute crap if it's not blow-dried and put in rollers, but my hair is so fine I can only do this every other day or so. On the off days, I don't wash it and I put it in a clip or a bun or a ponytail with whatever curl is left in it.

i wear my hair down almost all the time. depending on how long it's been since my last hair cut and how it's behaving, i'll so through phases of wearing it half up in a clip.
i have this thing where i feel totally insecure with my hair up (unless i'm working out or something like that) -- like i feel very exposed. when my hair guy first cut my bangs, he tried to get me to do ponytails all the time and it just wasn't happening.
I'm about half and half. I blow dry my hair in the morning. If I dry it all the way, I'll wear it down, but it needs constant brushing because it tangles easily. The other half of the time (if it's still a little wet or just looks bad) I'll throw it back it a braid (almost always if it's up) or occasionally a ponytail or messy bun.

I always start with it down, but its up before the day is halfway over... I'm about to cut my hair, though so it'll probably stay down all the time if its short enough.
I usually do a mix, but since i cut it, its too short to pull up. I'll clip my bags back or wear a headband or scarf for a change though. I get bored wearing it the same way every day!
I was my hair about twice a week. I usually wear it down the first couple days after I wash it and wear it up the last couple of days before I wash it.
Of course I go through periods where I wear it down all the time and then other times when I wear it back/up all the time. I guess I'll have to say half and half.
Most of the time, I style my hair according to my outfit. I mean, I have some outfits that just scream "messy ponytail!!" and some that say "sleek and straight." If I put on a particular outfit with the wrong hair, I feel completely off and not pulled together at all. I guess I treat my hair like the ultimate accessory. Ha, wow, I'm odd.

Since I chopped my hair off, it's always down now. I can pull the hair around my face back, but that's about it, so I leave it down most of the time when I'm in public.
Most of the time, I wear my hair down and wild and wavy. It suits my everyday style (fashionwise) as well. If I'm dressed up a little more, I might straighten it, or if I leave it wavy, I'll pull just the front/bangs back out of my face.
Down. Almost all the time, It's really long, and I'm not very good at any updos that I like. I like it down because it's really wavy, but I should practice more on messy updos.
it's usually down, I actually make a point to keep it cut just too short to put it into a ponytail, because I know that as soon as it's long enough, I'll start putting it up out of laziness, and I look atrocious with it up. I got to thinking it wasn't so bad, until I went out with a friend tonight, and I had an awful day so I just put it in a low ponytail and had a thick hairband to tuck the too-short pieces into (that sounds weird, I don't know how to explain it). He commented on how I looked a bit worse with it up!
I'm trying to grow it longer for the summer, because I plan on doing a lot of hiking and camping this summer and it just wouldn't be practical to have hair that I can't pull back. Also, a friend whose style I trust infinitely said he thought I should grow it out longer. But I'm scared I'll fall into the laziness trap again!

well, right now i can't wear it up! its too short!
but when it was long i would wear it down until it annoyed the heck out of me (usually around 2-3 in the afternoon) and then it would go up. also, i would usually wear it up on a 2nd day w/out washing...
I voted both. My hair is of medium thickness, but I have a ton of it, so even with the T3 it takes about 15-20 mins to blowdry. Sometimes I'd rather have the extra sleep. If I want to wear my hair down, I have to blowdry it. Otherwise it turns into a fluffy uncontrollable nightmare! On my lazy mornings, I pull it (wet) into a ponytail!
Probably about equal. My hair is crazy curly, so about half the time I straighten it, and then the other half I try to find ways to work with either 1) straight, but getting dirty hair or 2) curly clean hair. I'm a big fan of braids, buns, knots, etc.
