I decided to try out the luminous color glaze even though it got mixed reviews, and i have to say that my experience wasn't so bad. i'm liking this stuff.
the consistency is weird -- kind of jelly like and watery. the directions say to wash your hand immediately after, and this is really impt. my palms were dark brown, and just soap didn't seem to get all of the color off. i ended up using some of my apricot facial scrub on my hands to make sure all the brown was off.
my hair is definetely shiny, and smoother than usual. i really like the way my hair feels today. i usually have a lot of those little baby hairs that stick out all over my head if i don't smooth them down with something, but today they are all behaving and lying down on their own. i don't notice anything different with the color, but my hair is pretty dark brown anyway. it smells just like the brilliant brunette shampoo and conditioner -- which is huge plus.
the results are supposed to be cumulative, and it says to use it at least 3 times a week, so i'll post after i use it a few more times to see if the results get any better.
is your hair color natural? i am perplexed about this stuff b/c i would like to use it for the shine, but i dont want to deposit any color into my hair. will it or am i ok? i have very dark brown hair naturally.
but i colored it about a month ago with a semi-permanent color a few shades darker:
i didn't notice a color change on my hair, but that's probably b/c it's so dark already. from what i read about the glaze on the website and back of the bottle, it contains some dyes (i can't remember how they phrased it -- low-level or something like that). so i guess it depends on whether you are concerned with it changing your hair color (which it probably won't if it's really dark, but i'm not positive) or you are against putting color on your hair in any way (in which case i wouldn't use this stuff).
i'll let you know if i notice any change in my color after i've used it a few times, although, now that i think about it, it might be hard to tell what's the glaze depositing color and what's the semi-permanent dye washing out ...
I used this in the darker of the blonde shades, and as far as the color was concerned, it wasn't major. It brought out some blonde highlights (my hair is still its natural color, dark blonde with some dorty blonde highlights that are natural) but nothing that a few days in the sun wouldn't do. I've used much better products for shine...I find that things that wash out won't leave my hair shiny. So, overall, if you're concerned that it will change your haircolor, I highly doubt it.
