I have a little retro/funky futon (it's the twin bed size one that has the sides that fold up so it looks like a "u" sort of) and some cute pillows from CB2. I spent $400 on it, not including the pillows.
I need to sell it in the next week and a half because I have new furniture coming.
craiglist. i would either price higher than you would go (because everyone low balls it when they come to pick up), or price exactly what you want and write non-negotiable in the listing.

Definitely Craig's list. Also, I don't know how big your apartment complex is, but a lot of times, people in my bldg. advertise stuff they're selling in our lobby...you could try that too.
I've seen people put ads up at the library or in the paper. Sometimes in the paper they will have a section of some kind of wanted furniture. I got rid of a fridge recently from looking under that section. If you have a college nearby you could try posting up on a community board. Good luck I'm sure someone will want it.
