How long is your cycle usually? How many days away is your period?
Some really early signs (ie before a positive test would be possible) is radiating alot of heat, vivid dreams, increased sensitivity to smells, sensitive/itchy breasts/nips, and a change in cervical position/feel ( if you check stuff like that).

this might sound weird, but i didn't experience any early symptoms...however i just *knew* i was pregnant. the first home preg test i took said i wasn't pregnant because it was too early, but i knew i was...
a lot of the symptoms elle mentioned are very common. but also, maybe you are just near ovulation? when i am ovulation sometimes i feel like i am on my period (irratibility, nipple sensitivity, cramping, etc).

gah! don't say that! I have all of those right now (and the smell thing is bugging the crap out of me!) except for the last one (well, I just don't know that).

Ahhhh, lucky for you, PMS symtoms have an uncanny knack for mimicking pregnancy symptoms .....

but seriously...I do alot of those symptoms and even certain foods that I enjoy are now replusive to me..but I'm about 4 days away from my period so PMS is certainly a possibilty...I'll just hold out till I'm late and THEN start to worry...
Ayo, it really depends on how far along you are in your cycle and how long your cycle usually is. If you're cycles are usually 28 days long and you're currently on day 24 or so, you probably wouldn't get an accurate test result this soon.
I'd get a 2 pack and do a test the day before or the actual day you expect your period. If it turns out negative and your period gets to be 2 or 3 days late, test again.
Do you normally have an idea of when you ovulate? Any spotting or pinching about halfway through your cycle? If you do know then we could really have some fun analyzing ...

I could smell everything from what felt like miles away and my breast were so sore, I literally had to shower with a bikini top on because I couldn't take off my bra. My period comes with breast tenderness but nothing like when I was pregnant.
honestly, i'm not sure that you'd actually experience any signs of pregnancy THAT early. it was a good 4-6 weeks before i felt any type of pregnancy symptoms (mostly nausea and tiredness) i'd say it's just pms. seems that if you are thinking that you might be pregnant, pms symptoms come on even stronger to trick you into thinking you're pregnant.
Okay, I've been through this 3 times and each time the following two things made me KNOW I was pregnant-extreme tiredness and EXTREME breast tenderness!
everytime i have been pregnant(3 times) i knew within a few days. my boobs would be very very sore and hard and swollen and i would be so tired i would fall asleep at my desk. i fell asleep on the toilet at 11:30 in the morning one time. if you have only 4 days until your period will be here, take a first response test. it should be able to tell by now or by first thing tomarrow morning. use the first urine of the day.
personal question: if it is positive, are we happy?
