I'm going to a 70s party Saturday night. I have the outfit all lined up (including a gold lame purse - awesome!) but I need help with the hair.
I'd like to do a feathered hair look. If not, I'm going for stick straight. I know it's more 60s than 70s but still. Any ideas how to create the feathered look? I'm at a loss... Here's some pics:
I would use a curline iron to curl the front pieces away from your face, and then rely on a ton of hairspray to keep them in place and looking somewhat feathered. Probably more like this:
A truly "feathered" do requires a particular cut, IIRC. (Thank goodness I wasn't around for this trend the first time!)

Hot rollers or a big curling iron, babe! Just start with the front/top of your hair, put the curling iron on the ends and roll it away from your face. Pull one section straight up, clamp, and wind it all the way down to your scalp. Then do the section behind that and the one behind that. When you've curled it all, get a comb and hold it at your hairline on your forhead, and pull it up and through the curls. They should separate and fall, looking 'feathered' on each side of your face.
Does that even make sense?

Makes perfect sense! Thanks - those are very detailed instruction - exactly what I need. I can't wait - maybe I'll snap some pics before I go to show y'all the end result. I wonder if I look good with feathered hair???
