okay so awhile back we did a poll on who's style you admire that's was similar to yours. here's the opposite question. who's style do you admire that's different (in a good way) from yours.
mine are sfc, carmenb513, and fashionprincess.
sfc & carmenb513 i think of being super glam. i wish i could just look that naturally fierce but everytime i attempt it, i always feel like i'm trying too hard and fall back on my staples.
fashionprincess's style is very cute. i think of her as the lead in a romantic comedy, who always looks so adorable. whenever i see her ts posts, i always see her wearing things that i totally passed over in stores, but then i'm like damn i totally should've bought that piece.
I know I'm missing some, but Drew and Smash come into mind for there bravery in color exploration. I try to wear colors, but usually just pair them with neutrals, whereas Drew and Smash seem to mix all sorts of colors and make it work.

It's funny that you posted this, b/c I just realized yesterday that Vanessa is probably the person I think my style is most similar too, so I had to think about who would be opposite.
I think I Love Choo might be my opposite, because she wears classic shapes and always looks very pulled together. She's also an expert at accessories.

jlear, smash, and drew I love how they play with colors and different patterns and make it all come together. I love how jlear wears the big jewlery and it looks great!
I think I dress the most like FashionPrincess, Halleybird, and Rar210. I love the way Drew dresses, but I don't feel she's the complete opposite of me.
So, I'd say for opposites - I wish I could be more funky, yet still totally chic and pulled together like jlear, and I also really love Lilykind's funkiness. She's got a unique still that she makes all her own and I admire that.
eta: detroit- i love the way she always looks so polished and cool, yet still really unique.
I'll probably think of more and come back to post...
My opposites would be the infamous jlear and lilykind. I think they both have such funky but creative styles - love them both!
I also admire: drew, smash, FashionPrincess, ILoveChoo, detroit, def. NYLABelle, honey, carmenb513, halleybird, rar210, Miss T, ayo, just to name a dozen! LOL

Funny you say that.I actually think the exact same about you!
So here's my list:
Honey- I picture you as "super glam"....but I always feel I'm missing something when I attempt to wear the pieces like you waer.
Lilykind- For the funkiness.......I always want to take the chances that she does and then back down.
i wouldn't really say my style is opposite of anyone's here- my style is kinda hard to pin, and i wear a lot of different styles. I'd have to say that the styles that I really like that are the most different from mine are: FP- I fear pink, she wears it everyday, and looks super cute and SFC- i am probably closer in style to SFC, and have a preppy/glam undertone in some of my outfits, love jack rogers and chanel, for example, but I def. don't do it on a regular basis, and when I'm too polished, I feel uncomfortable. She carries it very well.
It is funny that everyone thinks of Honey as superglam- not saying that she isn't- but i always picture Honey as very cutting edge and knows of all the indie designers. She has the cool mask pendant, and likes strange pinnafore/suspender/jumper halter dresses by Marc Jacobs.
I love how Detroit can but together outfits of several interesting, often edgy pieces. She's always looks great and put together.
Smash has a great eye for color and layering. Even if she isn't wearing vintage, she makes each piece look vintage and unique.
Honey, Carmenb513, MissT and Lilykind always look modern and 'of the moment.' This sounds dumb, but they look hip and cool. Like they always know where the good party is.
Fashionprincess and Drew have a feminine, whimsical approach that I adore.
My favorite opposites are clean, classic, and totally pulled together. I always feel like I throw random stuff on at the last minute and just kinda hope and pray it works.
i like my style, but sometimes i feel like i dress too casual or too young for my age. i don't own any suits or anything that really looks traditionally "pulled together," so i often find myself admiring the style of people who look more dressy or pulled together (i guess opposites do indeed attract!). i also rarely wear black, so i love people who can wear black and neutral colors but make them look unique and not tired/boring.
in terms of specifics, i think my favorite opposites would be...
halley & FP - for always looking so pulled-together and polished
nyla - she definitely works all the trends - i always feel like a goof when i try to wear things like knit gauchos or cropped sweaters, etc
honey - i love how "street chic" she always looks. i keep thinking i'm going to see her in the NY Mag "person on the street" feature one of these days!
detroit - not totally an opposite, but her style is totally what i aspire to achieve someday when i'm finally ready to look like an adult with unique-but-polished style (instead of a college student!)

this is a cool poll! But it's hard, because there are so many people I admire.
I think I dress most like shopchicago33, Claudia and NCShopper. I gravitate toward very clean looks, and a lot of menswear. If I were 17 again, I'd want to dress like theotherjess.
As for opposites... I really wish I had the eye for color and creativity that smash and Drew have. Their outfits always look totally coordinated, but they are looks I never would have put together myself. I would like to be as whimsical as Lilykind and lynnie because they always look like they had fun picking out their clothes (unlike me, buried under piles of clothing and glaring at everything).
I love that CarrieS always seems totally at home in her outfits, like they suit her personality perfectly. I love how girly FashionPrincess and sfclinevandy are. If I saw honey or ayo on the street, I would think they were hella cool.
If I am going with total, total opposites, it would have to be detroit and jlear, because they use accessories so well, and constantly pull off totally edgy, fun looks (and beautifully, I might add) that are out of my "comfort zone" per se.

Wow Drew.. that is such a compliment! I luv the way you dress! So casual yet so chic and so girly.. I love yr style but don't seem to manage to pull off pieces that are very feminine so I guess in that way you are my "opposite". I tend to use very basic pieces and try to make something fun.. Then there is Lilykind.. so funky so cool... In my mind.. I wear outfits like she does but in reality.. I never walk out the front door no matter how much I like them...
