Have you heard it? What do you think? I love it, but I know my local radio station is a bit reluctant to play it because of the controversy.
Here's an article about how radio stations are testing the waters to see what people's reactions are. I know that some people are offended by the song, but I'm personally offended that my station doesn't play it more often!!
Ha! So funny I'm reading this now. I'm listening to the Dixie Chicks right this very second. I love them and I love their new song. Maybe they should, maybe they shouldn't have said what they said but now they're doing what artists should do, expressing themselves through their medium. I'm excited to get the album and listen to the whole thing. In Austin, the radio station I listen to in the morning has played it twice (that I've heard), but I don't know how often it's come on, other than that, because I usually have NPR on or something non-radio. I'll tune in more to listen now!
I hate the fact that people think criticizing the president is unpatriotic. It scares me, honestly. Good for them for not backing down.
I understand and appreciate that they are giving their opinion, but honestly, their target audience is country music, the large majority of which is Republican and backs Bush. I personally still like their music but I can understand why radio stations would be hesitant to play it.
Oh, and if I were the other members, I'd be kinda pissed that she basically destroyed their career with one comment, but I guess they back her?

Ooo, I didn't even know they had a new single out! Really, I know there has been a lot of backlash about Natalie's comment, but that summer they were the highest grossing concert of the year. I loooved their last album, it was very beautifully written!
