how about that wordy topic? not really sure where to put this, but i'm kind of annoyed and anxious.
so my mil offered at my baby shower to get us a stroller, which is great! one less thing to buy. this was over two weeks ago. ohhhkay. so i casually emailed her monday to mention how nice i think it would be if she and my husband went to get the stroller, because basically i've picked everything out and i thought he might like to be a little more involved in picking stuff out for the baby. so far, no response to my email, and she hasn't called me or my husband.
i really don't want to be pushy, but it feels like a pattern. she will offer stuff, i wait around, it never happens..and so i just end up getting it myself. i also do not want to sound greedy.
any advice? it would be nice not to have to buy this, but it's feeling like pulling teeth...
personally, i'd make dh call her himself and say "are we doing this or not?" you don't need to be wasting your time or energy on this kind of thing right now! plus, it's his mother, it's his job. and if she backs out, that's really horrible of her!

This is exaclty what I was going to suggest. If he feels uncomfortable asking about it, he could just call her and ask her if he wants to go to lunch and then go look at strollers or something. It does sound like she might be flaking on this one, and if he doesn't get a non-flaky response I would just go get one myself, not tell her and then maybe return the one she later buys (if that ever happens). Then, if/when she finds that you returned hers and confronts you, you can just tactfully point out that that you were unsure if she was going to get it or not and maybe she will get the subtle hint. HTH some!
