I kind of have a thing for cute socks and look everywhere I go for them. I find most at Target though. Also, TJ Maxx and Marshals usually stock really nice socks. At NY&Co I have found some great semi-sheer, sheer, and trouser socks -some of my favorites which is funny because I got most free w/coupons they used to give out. Also, JCrew has good winter socks. Big department stores sometimes have cool socks and stockings/tights too.
heh...don't buy socks, i just wait for christmas to roll around. my mom buys all of us lots of socks for christmas time. she usually fills up one of those christmas gift bags (the size that's like three hardback books standing up inside) with all sorts of socks and that lasts me all year. i don't think ive bought socks in years thanks to my mom. i always wonder what the checkout girls think at target/kmart/wherever because she's buying 15 or so pairs of socks for each of her five daughters. that's what? 75 pairs of socks? and no, she doesn't invidiually wrap them...they just get thrown in the bag with some tissue paper.

I haven't bought socks in a while either. My mom bought some socks (I think she got from tar-jay) she ended up not liking and gave them to me. I did buy a few trouser socks (liz claiborne) from a dept store I was working at while they were on clearance. I got some great summer socks (the ankle ones) there too. Nine west in bundles of 4? for really cheap. So I am stocked up for quite some time. I really miss working there.

Athletic socks are from Costco. I replenished my collection and bought two 6-packs of Champion for $20. I still have socks from when I was 12.
I don't usually buy trouser socks. Most of my pants are made of thinner material since I'm in Los angeles and on the few days of the year that it's cold enough to need trouser socks in my shoes I'd really rather wear full-on tights.
Black tights are from Nordies. I used to buy tons from Express but they don't seem so interested in making them anymore. I buy the funky stuff at Macys/Robinsons May/Target.
I used to buy all my funky colored socks at Syms though growing up. I think they have a killer sock selection but I'm nowhere near Paramus, NJ so no more stocking up there.
