But if you added up how much you spent on clothes in a year, averaged out, how much would it be? Would it be higher than you expected? Do you buy a few things a season, or a lot of things?
I'm wondering because I try to average around $400 a month- which multiplied out is almost $5000 a year. That sounds so high to my friends, but i feel like they must spend almost that much in a month- they'll come back from target and spend $50 and do this a few times in a month at other places- thrift stores, loehmans, etc.
Well, I am still living in denial and am not ready to take that step yet and become aware of my little problem. So, I have no idea! i would LOVE to guess at the low end of this, but I am scared that it would be way higher!
So, i will continue to live in denial until someone drags me to a shoppers' annonymous meeting!
Hmmm. I generally try to limit it, but there are a few times a year when I need to make bigger purchases - generally tied to work such as suits, bags, and cashmere. I really stick to the quality, not quantity, but then I will have some weak times at Loehmann's :)
I'd have to say $1000-$2500.00, and now that I think about it - that's a lot to me! LOL Some months I go crazy w/shopping, and others, I don't. I 'use to' have a shopping budget, but that is so gone bye-bye! LOL

I was updating my Quicken, so I just ran a report to see how much I spent last year on clothes, jewelry, and shoes. It was more than double the number I had in my head. I cannot believe it.
That said, now that I'm looking at each item, it is making sense. I lost about 25lbs last year and went down two sizes, so I basically had to replace my whole wardrobe.
In 2006, I'm averaging a little less than $200/month so far.
I put myself on a budget this year, and I average about $500 a month, but that includes accessories. I try to get only 4-5 items with it, going for cute clothes that will last for a few years, and spend maybe $100 of it on cheapie fill in items. Outside of that, if I get a bonus at work, or a tax refund, I usually blow it on a nice purse.
Oh wow, it has to be over $6k. My month to month spending varies because sometimes I buy a lot and sometimes I don't spend that much, but I'm budgeted $300 per pay period. Now I'm sad because I don't feel like I have that much to show for it!
