Where to go from NYC on 4th of July weekend?

My boyfriend and I are looking to get away for about 5 days from NYC on the Saturday through Wednesday of Fourth of July weekend. Since we'll only be going for a few days, we'd prefer not to go anywhere too far, like Europe. We enjoy beaches, but have recently gone to the Bahamas, Puerto Rico and St. Thomas.

Can you recommend somewhere where the weather will be nice in July, which won't be too, too crowded for the holiday, and won't be too ridiculously expensive?

Bermuda, Nantucket, even Mystic may be nice for an extended long weekend. Also you may want to look at the Delaware beaches. My family usually spends the 4th in Bethany Beach. You can leave your chairs on the beach go home eat dinner and no one has moved your chairs and they are all in position to watch the fireworks from the beach. It can be crowded but is a lot of fun.
