I'm such a snob when it comes to sushi-related food. It's pure, pure love for me.
I can eat EVERYTHING that would be on a sushi menu. Raw food doesn't scare me or gross me out. I definitely enjoy a good roll but I don't like it when many people think a california roll is the end all, be all of sushi (but don't turn that against me, I like the Cali roll too, it's just... for me, enjoying sushi should not just be about the imitation crab).
With that said...
I haven't tried the sea urchin. I'm afraid to try it for fear of it being old and yucky here. I will probably try it this weekend in L.A.
I love octopus.
Smoked salmon is a classic for me.
Tobiko is cool because of its crunchy texture. I'd like to have with raw quail eggs on top.
I like wasabi with soy sauce for raw fish only. The roll itself has its own flavor and does not need be tainted with it (I'm not really a soy sauce fan). I also like the many special sauces that the different restaurants make for their customers.
And I hate myself because I want to eat it everyday but I get sick of the normal fishes so easily...
Same here, and if my sushi is cooked it does help!

I've tried, I really have - I eat all sorts of unsavory critters. But sushi just makes me gag. I think it's the seaweed. I just tried again & spit it out - sorry if that's TMI - I really want to like it but I just can't!
