I totaly turned my guys style around. he was like really punk but not in a cute way more like a rolled out of hottopic kind of way, I got him into cute skater shoes, jeans that dont harng below his ass, and button down shirts in cute patterns.

My DH was super-hippy before I met him (Phish tours, long hair, hemp pants, the whole nine yards) but he'd toned that down considerably by the time we got together. He used to be kind of sloppy... lots of ripped hoodies, lumpy sweaters, etc. But I just think it was because he didn't know any better. His mother isn't very fashionable, and he's never had a lot of money to buy designer clothes.

I had a very half-hearted approach to my appearance when we first met, too, so I can't really criticize him too much. Our senses of style have evolved together... he's discovered he looks good in bright colors. He layers a lot now with T-shirts, collared shirts, and jackets. He's also been willing to try out unconventional patterns that he might not have taken a chance on before. Once we got him a subscription to Cargo, it was like a whole new world.

He looks to me for advice and help in picking out clothes. He feels more confident when he looks good... and once we both graduate from law school, I know he'll enjoy wearing suits to work. He loves dressing up with a cool shirt and an eye-catching tie.

my husband is so weird. He won't let me buy him clothes. He wears (exclusively)

for work:

-two pairs of dress pants, black and brown (that's right, only two! he won't wear any others, even though I have bought them)

-an assortment of polo shirts. He will only wear shirts that are black, white, brown, blue or green.

-brown dress shoes or black dress shoes.

for home:

-jeans (winter) or cargo shorts (summer). Again, 1 pair each, and he won't wear multiples.

-plain-colored tees in the colors mentioned above.

-sneakers or flip-flops.

That's it, folks! As you can tell, he has to do laundry often. He never looks unfashionable, but he never really looks fashionable either (although he does own a few Coors shirts [he was born in CO] that I'd like to burn).

On the plus side, I have lots of closet space!

DH is an F-16 pilot for the Air Force, so he wears a flight suit to work. Seems like he always has it on. Here's a picture of one. This is not my hubby of course, and his has more bells and whistles attached.

He's an avid golfer, so whenhe's not at work, he's wearing golf shirts and shorts. Almost all the time. We live in Arizona, so that's even through the winter.

My boyfriend D is an artist and many of his clothes get messed up...he's been working with vinyl tape lately and whenever I do laundry I find strips of it in all sorts of colors, stuck to everything. However, he does like to look nice, although he can't afford a lot. When he wants to dress up, he'll wear a nice collared shirt with a sweater and cords. For every day he wears jeans and t-shirts, and switches between three sweaters (one navy cotton, one green cotton, one green wool). Mainly he shops at H&M, although he has some stuff from Banana or Brooks Brothers thrown in, and sometimes he wears certain things that were his grandfather's. His favorite shoes are New Balance sneakers in a dark reddish brown, which he realized after months of wearing them were actually from the women's line, but he still loves them!

Generally I think he looks fine, although I love it when he takes a little more effort and has on a button down. It doesn't take much to impress me.

My husband is a total hillbilly- he is an avid sportsman so his clothing often translates that. But, I think that the thing that bothers me the most is his total disregard for the weather- he is rarely cold so temperature never factors into his mind when he puts on an outfit. Granted, we are in california, but- shorts, a tee, and flips in 50 degree weather is a little out there. It is also very hard to fit him because he is so tall- 6'5"- and alot of his height proportionally is in his torso. I cant just grab something at a BM store- mostly have to order online-and he has become so frustrated because he cannot just pick something up when he needs it like others can do. If we are going somewhere nice though, I can always trust that he will spiff himself up, he really does like to dress up if the occassion calls for it. Its more of his day to day, casual style that I just dont see ever improving.

jeans or khakies and a polo. Almost every day. If it's cold, he'll so a crew neck (and only ever crew neck!) sweater, but that's as adventurous as he gets.

My DH wears only designer jeans, but prefers mostly Guess designer lines, only Lacoste for the summer which is kind of funny, because it used to be Nautica/Tommy when those were bigger and to me they're all just polos; Nike Air Max 95/97's that you can still buy new off Ebay, although he finally bought the 2006 version; nice sweaters in the winter, usually Lacoste or other brands like that.

So he's pretty sporty, but nicely put together. I always go with him to shop and help pick things out. I love his style.

DH has the oddest sense of style. I've tried turning it around and sometimes he's receptive to help, sometimes not. So I still continue to try.

For example his favorite color is orange. Not just like pumpkin orange or rust orange, but bright, tangerine orange. He has (no joke) the following in tangerine orange:

A multi-pocketed vest
Belt
Sweatpants
Button down shirt
Multiple pairs of socks
A baseball hat
A fleece
Many many tee shirts

His style isn't really all that developed or mature. He appreciates nice things and will wear them, but he still falls back into his Old Navy camo pants or a shirt with Homer Simpson on it (oh yes...he'll wear that to work). Since we met though, I've gotten him to stop wearing his "New York Fuckin' City" shirt out in public. It's only worn in the house now. Baby steps...

My DH wears the same ON jeans all the time - he has 4 pair. I actually went to get him more & they have discontinued them so I'm not sure what we'll do now! He hates fitted pants so wears lose baggy jeans. I've tried different kinds / styles but he won't wear them so I stopped buying. He wears short sleeves all the time, even in the winter because he said it's too hot in the office to wear long sleeves. He wears golf shirts or button ups mostly from ON or Gap, or his company shirts. He does own a pair of khakis & a few nice long sleeve shirts for work if big wigs are there, but even then he rolls the sleeves up. And we won't EVER wear a tee under his shirts, he hates tshirts on principal because he said they strangle him & says the layering makes him hot. I tried at first but now I don't bother. I figure I dress how I want & he dresses how he wants. However, I did draw the line at some jeans with cordoury patches on them

I guess like halleybird's DH, he's neither fashionable or unfashionable.

-the same old jeans, until they get a hole then it's an ordeal to find another pair
-t-shirts (old fraternity shirts, mostly, or the random big t's i get from donating blood) on weekends
-sweaters OR button shirts for work, but never at the same time (never puts a sweater over a button shirt, ever!)
-sneaks or comfy loafers, every day

most everything is from target or old navy or marshall's/dsw/discount stores. he's totally not into clothes but i don't care...he still looks cute! he'd just look weird if he tried to be trendy. he actually still wears his old flannel from the 90's which i think is funny, but kind of endearing since he actually wore it on our first date! :)

There isn't anything that turns me off more than a man into fashion. For some reason I just can't stand it. We make quite a funny looking pair, I must say!

jeans/shorts (depending on weather) tshirts/tennis shoes. He wore a suit once (to our wedding - we had to rent it) His tshirts are industry tshirts. I have the 2 bedroom closets-he has the closet in the front hallway (which is not full and I would love to put some of my stuff in, but he won't let me)

My boyfriend is all about carpenter jeans....he pretty much wears them everyday. When he goes out at night, he'll wear non-carpenter jeans. He wears cargo shorts in the summer. He is also into obnoxious t-shirts. He has a shirt from AF that says "Sleeps Well with Others" and he also has a chick magnet t-shirt from ON...its yellow, with a baby chick with a magnet next to it He wears them if we go out to a bar or something. I think he likes the attention.
