Brides or Brides-to-be...Did you get a wedding gift for your FH? If so, what was it? I'm stumped. I want it to be something he can keep forever, but I have no ideas. A watch? He wouldn't ever wear cufflinks or any other type of jewelry. Please help me!

hmmm...i gave my groom a ring.

of course, i had just given him a pretty nice watch for his law school graduation a few months prior to our wedding.  but otherwise i might have considered giving him a watch for the wedding.  but if your FH isn't a jewelry type...does he have any expensive hobbies you could give him equipment for, like golf clubs or something?  you might try searching on the knot message boards for "groom gift," they have a lot of ideas there.

Me too, along with, ya know, me!

Did you have a price range in mind?  Does he have any hobbies?

I love the idea of a watch, I know it isn't original, but I love it!

My husband loves to play guitar so I bought him the makings to make his own guitar! He worked on it diligently and it came out so great! He loves it and will keep it forever!

We decided to get a puppy when we got back from our honeymoon, so we skipped the gifts.

I did write him a letter, though, and I gave it to his mom and asked her to give it to him when he was getting ready.

my friend, who is getting married this weekend was stumped too.  (she thought that they weren't doing gifts, and then he decided to buy her something.)  he's been really into scotch lately, so i suggested that she buy him a nice decanter with some matching glasses and a bottle of his favorite scotch.

hopefully this might help you get some ideas flowing...

You can make it original.  My hubby loves supaerman.  I got him a superman pocketwatch off ebay and had the back engraved with something like I love you today, tomorrow, always.  I am hoping it will become a family heirloom he can pass down to our little boy (when we have one)
