I thought Reese looked the best, but overall, I didn't think there were a lot of people taking fashion chances tonight. There were pieces of Michelle WIiliam's dress I didn't love, but I do think that color and her lips- the whole vintage feel- was fab. Everything just seemed very monochromatic. I wanted more color- I felt like there were a bunch of blonds in pale colors. I thought there was a lot of beautiful, classic teardrop earrings (loved Amy Adams). Keira was okay, but her hair color just seemed really off.
I really like Amy Adams' dress. I just saw Junebug and loved her so she's my new favorite. I also liked Kiera Knightly's dress. I normally don't care for anything about Jennifer Aniston but I actually liked her dress. I also loved Charlize Theron. J-lo was the worst... it's like she tried to make her hips look huge.
Does Charlize have a growth coming out of her shoulder? I think the dress would have been great without that, that, thing. Plus, I wasn't crazy about her hair, at least not with the dress..

i thought jennifer aniston looked incredibly chic. it was classic, but modern. simple and pretty. it just seems like there is a lot of over-thinking going on in a lot of oscar looks. jennifer looked effortlessly glamourous. i guess she always does though.
I think charlize theron's dress probably looked really great on the hangar, but it wasn't attractive on the body. yikes.
The dresses were like a bad movie called "Attack of the Taupe Disasters." So many women wore dresses that completely blended in with their skin tones. To misquote Michael Kors, "I wasn't impressed."
On the plus side, Meryl Streep's dress was so cool and had a nice neckline. It was sexy without being trampy -- Pamela Anderson and Paris Hilton should take a lesson.
I might get dinged for this, but I thought Reese Witherspoon's speech was fake, fake, fake. She "sounded" like she was choked up, but there were no tears streaming down her face or welling up in her eyes. She seemed too composed.

I totally agree with all your points. I thought Meryl Streep's dress looked beautiful on her. The color and cut complimented her well and while there wasn't a whole lot of embellishment or anything, she looked classy and elegant and very pretty.
As far as Reese's speech goes, I thought it was a little fake too. Maybe not fake per se, but definitely rehearsed. But I really don't think anyone else on the list of nominees for Best Actress was really even a contender when compared to her performance. She was definitely the front runner going into it and I think she had her speech ready to go. In my opinion, I think it's fine--I get a little tired of women getting up there and just totally losing their composure.
I haven't been impressed with Michelle Williams' fashion in the past, she always struck me as pretty, but kind of boring. But I really liked her look for the Oscars.
Charlize Theron is so pretty, why did she wear a dress with a bow that looked like it was going to eat her head?
I'm surprised how many people are liking Michelle Williams look. I think she looks horrible. The color just washes her out and the dress just isn't flattering, IMO.
i'm with ya. i thought that color was horrid. i think she's cute too.

I'm not going to ding you for that, but I have to disagree. Maybe I'm the only one, but I thought Reese was very genuine. I dunno, every time I see her speak, that's how she is..she just seems very sweet and down to earth. And of course she was rehearsed..they all have to be - I think that's a given. But I don't think she was fake. Just my opinion
I thought Nicole Kidman looked like she got her dress from David's Bridal. Also she looked all botoxed and plastic/shiny. When they cut to Keith Urban sitting next to her he had "fresh" hightlights in his hair and looked so girly and fake-baked! He seems a bit to "metro-sexual" for her.

I'm so glad someone else thinks this about Nicole Kidman other than me!! Over the years, I think she just looks worse and worse. I too think she looks all plasticy and shiny She just looks older and older to me.
Wow - I really liked J Lo's dress - I don't think it looks as good in the pixs but when she was walking on stage I thought it was really flattering on her - maybe I'm just comparing it to those awful no pocket jeans picture I saw....
I'm still really ho hum about Michelle Williams. I'll say it again, I just don't get it - I don't think she's pretty AT ALL - I used to think the same about Gwenyth though, so maybe she'll grow on me.
Jennifer Aniston looked awesome & confident coming down that stage - I thought she looked great - I can't say that I would take risks at something like this either - I'm just ok with that!
LOVED Salma Hayek - probably my fav. I also thought Reese looked awesome & I thought her speech was sweet - I would rehearse too - I think she's just genuine & nobody is used to that so it comes across as insincere. What a shame.
I thought Felicity's chest looked scary in that dress. During the show they kept cutting to her & I couldn't help but wonder what was up with her boobs.
Worst: Naomi Watts - WTF? what was she thinking? Charlize - It pains me too cause I love her.
Metric - I thought Jessica Alba was "off" too - also Uma - ugh. And Hilary Swank needs to eat something.
