just watched house of flying daggers. it was awesome. but...be forewarned, unless you can deal with subtitles, kungfu, and slower movies, this is not for you! it was similar to crouching tiger, hidden dragon...but imo, better!
and since im talking about asian movies...im gonna throw these out there but have not watched in a while.
tampopo- awesome. a japanese spagehtti western! it's about udon noodles!
audition- scariest movie evah. i forget if it's japanese with korean actors or korean with a japanese director or something like that. man auditions girls to find new girlfriend/wife...and then shit happens.

i just watched american psycho for the first time- it was a pretty disturbing movie, but christian bale's body was INSANE... i was drooling while he was doing yoga in his tighty whiteys. looooooove him.
i also watched mad hot ballroom this past weekend. it was great- those kids were so freakin cute!

relrel: was it gross scary? or just freaky? i think i remember seeing a preview for this...
to answer the topic question, i just watched infernal affairs, and i really liked it!
I saw Munich a couple weeks ago, it was good but depressing, kind of the same way The Piano was. It almost tried to show both sides of the Palestinian/Israeli conflict. But it had some raw/weird sex scenes between the guy and his wife, which could have been left out and were kind of distracting.

not really gross scary, even though there are a few parts where i turned away from the screen. it's more the mess with your mind scary. i mean seriously mess with your mind scary. like the movie is over, the credits finished rolling five minutes ago and you are still sitting there with your mouth open.

the BF and I were just saying how no good movies have come out in the past few weeks- we go to the movies at least once, sometimes two times per weekend
the last movie that we saw that really stuck with me was match point.... so good.... def. brought woody allen back from whatever he was stuck in that made him churn out crap-o-la films...
Cool. Now I have tons of movies to add to my Netflix queue.
Maddie, I loved Grizzly Man. I rented it when it first came out and my brother, his friends, and I watched it 4 times in one weekend. It's kind of addicting. Last weekend, there was some special on the Discovery Channel or something where they played the documentary and also included footage of his friends commenting on the documentary and how they feel he was portrayed in it. I added "Timothy Treadwell" to my MySpace friends.

I agree! The last movie we saw in the theater was Munich and that was well over a month ago! There's nothing that looks appealing right now, so I've been watching Season 1 of Grey's Anatomy and the Harry Potter movies on DVD.
We watched Lord Of War the other night, and it was pretty good. It's based on true events, so that's pretty disturbing. It has Nicolas Cage and whatshisface that used to date Cameron and has big blue eyes.
I just saw Elizabethtown too. I loved it. I got the dvd and watched it twice in the same weekend. But my crush on Orlando might have something to do with that.
I also just saw Saw 2. It was interesting if you like that kind of movie and saw the first one. Nice twists at the end that I definitely didn't see coming.
Other recent viewings: Deuce Bigalow European Gigolo, American Pie Band Camp, and Fantastic Four. Deuce and American Pie are good if you're not expecting more than something to laugh at. Fantastic Four was the typical superhero movie to me (the husband wanted to see it).
