for all the crazy headaches I've been having (working on two weeks now!). And all she did was tell me to cut down my two diet drinks a day (my only source of caffeine) to one and to stop chewing gum, which I don't do on a regular basis.
Bleh. I hate going to the doctor and getting yet another prescription for a headache pain killer. I can take Aleve for that. The reason I went to the doctor is because I DON'T want to take medicine every single day. Ugh. Sucks.
just three things i was thinking about reading this post and rereading your older post about your headaches...
1. have you possibly developed any new food allergies or sensitivities? perhaps something you are eating (besides the gum and caffeine) is causing your headaches. i don't know what kind of doctor you would see for this...an internist? an allergist?
2. have you thought about going to a chiropractor? perhaps there is something off with your alignment or how you are sleeping/sitting/standing that is putting tension on your neck which is then messing with the other nerves in and around your head?
3. do you have a sinus infection, or something else going on with your adenoids/eardrums/optic nerves...etc? i get terrible sinus headaches which cause migraine like symptoms so perhaps it's something going on with your sinuses.
and dude.....ya don't like your doc's opinion go and get another one. it's your body and you know best. if you don't want just another scrip than that's your perogative. the doc is there to serve you...not for her to tell you what to do. call your insurance company's helpline (most have 1800 numbers you can call) and see if they can tell you a specific type of doctor to see for headaches. make it clear that you don't want to see your primary doc but someone who specializes in headaches.
here's a couple links i found through google that might help you.

Awww! So sweet to look up those links for me. I'm going to check them out. If I get another headache, I'm going to request a referral to a specialist. It might be my own weird thing though. I just hate taking meds!
1. What kind of diet drinks do you drink, I know that if I drink or eat anything with Splenda in it I get a massive headache.
2. I visit the chiropractor regularly!! I get really stressed sometimes and get a pinched nerve in my neck, but the pain is in my head. The pain traveles up the back of my head to right above my right eyebrow. Sometimes the pain is BLINDING. It blurs my vision and makes it impossible to get anything done because it is so painful. I try special pillows, ice packs and tons of headache meds, but a visit to the chiropractor is like heaven. Even getting a massage can really get rid of tension that is causing headaches.
Uggh--I hate when that happens. You go the doctor thinking they can actually HELP you, and they end up telling you something you already know or something that doesn't seem like it would help at all. Such a waste of time! Hope you feel better soon!
that sucks. it's my experience that doctors take the least aggressive action first. example...quit soda. then they keep on adding all these mini steps that may or may not help the problem, until they have to take a more aggressive approach. which is fine and all, but it's not fun tracking back and forth to the doctor.
i recently had a week of really bad headaches. i changed my caffeine intakes. it didn't do anything. then after about 5 days of that, i woke up with a sinus head cold. after i took decongestants for the head cold, the headaches went away.
i hope you feel better. maybe try the decongestants.

I haven't read your older post..so I don't know all the background, but I have a couple of thoughts...
Have you had your eyes checked recently?
I thought I needed glasses b/c of the headaches I was having...but my eyesight had not changed.
So, it ends up that it was all dental related...I grind my teeth at night...SEVERELY...but some people just do it when stressed. I even find myself clinching my jaw during the day when I am concentrating or reading...all of this leads to headaches.
