I am going to the beach this Thursday and I will be all by myself for 5 days! I really need some time off from the wedding planning so I can get back to my normal self. So any good suggestions for some mindless beach reads?
I cannot remember the name, but Barbara Kingsolver has a book of short stories that is perfect for beach reading. I read it on a recent beach vacation and thought it was really great because you finish a story in a few pages. It can't really get any more mindless than that, eh?

Great suggestions, but I have already read them all.
Practical Magic, Seventh Heaven, Here on Earth, Turtel Moon, The Drowing Season, Fortunes Daughter
Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, Me talk Pretty One day, Naked, Barrel Fever and Holidays on Ice all by David Sedaris ( Seriously these will have you laughing your butt off)
Vanishing Act by Jodi Picoult
Three Weeks with my Brother by Nicholas Sparks and Micah Sparks
The Starter Wife by Gigi levangie grazier
True Believer and At First Sight by Nicholas Sparks ( must be read True Believer first)

last time I was at the beach I read "The Time Traveler's Wife"...it wasn't as mindless as the Shopaholic series, but an easy read, and pretty engrossing, which is good for when you have lots of time to yourself.
my mom loves Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum mysteries...i haven't read any yet but they sound cute, fun and super-mindless (in a good way).
