We'll be going to St. Lucia in May! I'm sooo excited! We got married in August and couldn't take a honeymoon right away so this will be extra special for us!
we got married in November but couldn't do anything (I have issues with taking leave at work). I think we're going to go to iceland in June. We needed something close since I can't take a lot of time off ( iahve like 3 days left until July), and we didn't really want to do a beach.
We live in DC and got married in Tucson, AZ. I didn't want to travel again after the wedding, so we spent a week at the Four Seasons in Scottsdale. Not very exotic, but completely, totally indulgent and wonderful.
What is the difference between a honeymoon and a vacation? Seriously, I cannot figure out if there even is a difference. Just asking because when we went to The Caves in January, we met a few honeymooning couples, but they all had had their weddings months ago, so to me it seemed like a vacation.
We take vacations every year so feel no need for a real honeymoon. Gosh, am I just a kill-joy?
Cancun, we actually stayed at a resort almost an hour south, near Tulum. And that was about 6 1/2 years ago, I've heard it is a lot more commericalized (sp?) now.
we went to Aruba...we wanted something that didn't require a long plane ride (i think our flight was 3.5 hours), that was warm and sunny and out of the hurricane belt (since we got married in August), a place with good restaurants, and a nicer hotel than we would normally stay in for just any old vacation but not somewhere that was too much of a "scene"...and Aruba best fit that bill.
in retrospect, even though people rave about the restaurants in Aruba (it's apparently the island with the best dining, second to Puerto Rico), we weren't that impressed. since dining is pretty important to us on vacations, if we'd known that ahead of time...we might have picked somewhere else...
We went to California for 5 days. Originally it was supposed to be San Diego, but halfway through, my husband surprised me and took me to Disneyland, which is like one of my favorite places ever. It was so much fun!

we went to australia - melbourne, port douglas, lizard island and sydney. it was amazing!
other places we were thinking of - greece, south africa/safari, and tahiti. i'm happy we chose australia - it was a great combo of big cities/sites/great food and beach/bumming around.
We did a Caribbean cruise - 8 days. Neither of us had ever been, and we didn't want to just stay at one island, so this worked out best. We went to four different islands and very much enjoyed ourselves. *s*
