so butthead is the official honeymoon decider.  fine by me.  i was sure we were going to do italy and france, but now he's leaning towards french polynesia.

can someone tell me about this area?

he won't tell me exactly where we are going until a few days before the wedding ( i'm unsure of this secret honeymoon, but he's begging, so i was nice and will let him)

i need all kinds of info.

i have a few friends that went there for their honeymoons and all of them loved it.   everyone flies into tahiti (the island) but most people don't actually spend any time on that island - there are a variety of islands to go to from tahiti, but the most popular are moorea (well known for it's very blue waters and amazing snorkeling) and bora bora (hotels on this island are a lot more luxurious, i think they're building a ritz and/or a st. regis right now).  most people spend a few days on a few different islands.  there are a few other islands although i don't think there are many places to stay on the other islands.

all of the islands are incredibly mellow, there's not much to do other than water activities, lying around and eating, and i don't think there's really any nightlife on the islands, but it's pretty perfect for a honeymoon since you'll probably be pretty tired after all of the wedding craziness.    the only constant complaint i've heard from people is about the food - it's supposedly crazy overpriced and not very good.

my husband and i almost went to tahiti last year (we ultimately decided on kauai because we had less than a week and didn't want to spend a lot of it traveling), so i did some research and found a really good website - http://www.tahiti-explorer.com/.  there's a great forum on that website with lots of very well-informed people, so i would recommend posting your questions there.
