*updated* I think this would work better if we listed titles we have and are willing to share. That way, we can check them out on Amazon, etc. to see if we're interested. When you send a book off, edit your list. We may find more interesting books this way. If anyone disagrees, we'll change it back.
...Thanks to honey for the idea and the rules
List books you are willing to share. (Title and author, to avoid confusion)
If you have a book on someone's list, pm them, but respond to the thread so that others know.
Try to mail the book within 7 days if possible.
One thing we should think about (and maybe this can just be worked out between members via PM) is whether these are loans or gifts. Maybe take it on a case-by-case basis, and don't send out anything that you would die without. Personally, I usually end up giving away tons of books anyway, b/c I don't really re-read, but we should make that clear to the person we're swapping with.
Also, it's probably important to say you should use caution in sending your real name and address to anyone you don't feel comfortable with.

Halleybird - I think we have the same books "lying around!" I'll update later with some books I'm willing to swap. I *hope* to get mine back but I suppose if it's a trade, it wouldn't hurt so much to lose the book.
I am going to do this next week when I get home from vacation - but I'm afraid I am going to be outed! Everyone will know what trashy murder mystery type crap I read!

I am really interested in doing this, but I haven't had time to look through my book selection. I can think of a few right now that I'd be willing to swap though:
1. The Secret Life of Bees
2. Devil in the White City;
3. Middlesex (when I'm finished with it);
4. She's Come Undone
I'll post again when I get a chance to look through my stash.
When we swap books, are we actually giving those people our books to keep, or can we get them back? Do we just handle this case by case? Or maybe we should clarify what we want to do in our post? I would like to swap, but I'd like my books back and am happy to mail whatever I get back to their owners too.
