Ive been eating massive amounts of cereal lately, mainly because im super busy with school right now and studying for exams so that is the easiest and quickest thing to eat, oh and the fact that i dont cook, and am really picky. The cereal im eating is not the healthy sort of cereal either... but ive been just eating cereal for about a week and i totally feel like im gaining weight. So my question is...
How bad is cereal for you?

the bad stuff (like what you said you were eating), extremely bad. lots of sugar and bad carbs!
if you insist on eating cereal, and don't feel bad cause i do it too (i would live on cereal and grilled cheese if i could), try to eat healthier stuff. kashi makes fantastic cereals, and some of them are sweet enough to curb that sugar craving. i like the cinammon harvest from them.

the cereals you're eating sound like 100% sugar and refined carbs. yummy, but horrible for you.
I'm a reformed Lucky Charms/Froot Loops/Corn Pops/Cinnamon Toast Crunch addict. I've found that Quaker Oatmeal Squares and Kashi Good Friends are really really addicting and nowhere near as loaded with sugar. Honey Nut Cheerios isn't super-terrible either.
when i was pregnant all i ate was cereal just about and i thought i couldn't possibly gain that much weight from just cereal, but i was so wrong. i gained 95 lbs while i was pregnant. if you really have no time for anything else, at least try eating like honey nut cheerios or rasin bran or special k. they are not too bad for you and the cheerios help lower colesteral.
just curious (not to hijack!) but what about reg. cheerios? sometimes i think about stealing a little box from the hotel in the morning but then i decide against it b/c of all the carbs in cereal...
anyone know if this is a good or a bad cereal to munch on?
reg Cheerios are great (and oh so delicious!) b/c they don't have much sugar (1 gram) and use whole grains which is soluble fiber. And are low in fat and full of iron.
Another thing you could do is check out how much fiber is in the cereal. I haven't let myself buy any cereal that has fewer than 3g fiber. They are more filling and better for you. Multi-grain Cheerios are really yummy and just sweet enough. I also love Raisin Bran and Grape Nuts.
If you HAVE to eat the Cocoa Puffs and the like, maybe you could do the version with 75% less sugar.

I eat cereal excessively too, mostly Kix and Honey Nut Cheerios. Are these bad too? I know they have lots of carbs, but carbs are pretty much what I live off of. Ahh, now I'm worried.
Real Cheerios have little sugar and some oat fiber in them. How bad can they be when every mom gives them to their kid on the pediatrician's recommendation.
I LOOOVVEE real cheerios, with some banana in it, the food of the gods IMO! LOL!

I'm addicted to regular and Multi-grain Cheerios. They've both got loads of good stuff in them, so if you have to go for cereal, I'd do those. I usually pack a cup of Cheerios for a snack at work. If you eat them one at a time, they last a long time and let you feel like you've eaten a lot.
If it means anything to you, 1 cup of either of those Cheerio types is 2 points on WW.
